I Love ROHTO Lycee!

ROHTO Lycee Eye Wash Lotion!!

ROHTO Lycee is a pink-colored eye wash used after contacts and eye makeup are removed. It contains a triple vitamin combination of vitamins B6, B12, and E! It’s quite popular and often seen in fashion magazines! Especially magazines that also focus on circle lenses.
I HAD TO TRY IT!
I bought some back during my trip. ACTUALLY, I knew I already wanted to try it badly because nothing like this exists in the US. So I rushed out and bought it only a few hours after landing in Tokyo, haahaa!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It’s so refreshing yet soothing. AND THAT SCENT! Rose!!! Rose scented vitamin wash for your eyes!!! Smells so, so heavenly.
I admit I was a bit apprehensive with trying it at first. Suction cupping your eye then having to blink within the liquid. I’m the type of person who could never open their eyes under water! Too scared. So I was the loser always in goggles. ANYWAY. This stuff though is so soothing that I immediately got over any anxiety about it. I’ll probably repurchase some online when I run out

Ad for ROHTO Lycee in Popteen. There’s usually monthly ads since this is a really great product for daily contact lens wearers or heavy eyemake wearers (or both!!)
I also bought ロートリセコンタクトa which is a refreshing cooling eyedrop for contacts. ROHTO has always made refreshing eyedrops but this version is safe for contacts!! I always wanted to try these minty drops.

They’re OK. lolol They are refreshing, but I’m not really used to having a minty eyeball, lol. I do like these for when I have a headache though, I dunno why. I probably wouldn’t repurchase them though, I use regular eyedrops more still. I did see they’ve started selling the original mint eyedrops in US stores though!! Not safe for use with contacts though.

Healthy eyes, happy eyes!

That’s…kinda..scary looking to do! Even if I can open my eyes underwater. Hm hm… ooh gives me the shivers. T_T But the ad is really cute though!
-
This is an awesome review! Thanks for always sharing cool products with us, Jenny! I plan to buy the eye wash & will skip the drops since they don’t seem too special…. >__>
-
That is the weirdest thing I’ve like ever seen! Haha but really cool. I do love pink and having healthy eyes though! xD I’m interested in this now… hmmmmmm
-
I can’t believe how much american plug sockets look like faces!
Yours look so distraught :( maybe it’s because he doesn’t have suitable eyes for lycee! -
This looks awesome! Okay ebay here I come lol, I’ve also heard great reviews on the eyedrops but I never knew it was minty! A minty eyeball doesn’t really sound too appealing to me…
-
soooo weird! but i want to try some day my eyes needs some vitamins!
-
I love that stuff! I started using it when I was in Japan because of the commercials and it’s wonderful how it really works. I bought 5 bottles before moving back here. It’s amazing how much gunk gets into my eyes during the day.
-
I can’t open my eyes while pouring water in it either. It’s sort of scary and it gives me a tingly feeling whenever I apply eyedrops in my eyes.
Isn’t the girl in the eye drops Nozomi Sasaki? :O
-
I have the normal minty eyedrops and they’re like crack! I couldn’t stop using it back at my other job every afternoon. It’s like listerine for your eyes but in a cool, refreshing way. I didn’t realize they were unsafe for contacts. I’m pretty sure I’ve used them with my contacts in. Oops. Well, at least my contacts didn’t melt into my eyeball or something.
-
I have heard of doing this with rosewater, but I’ve never tried it.
-
I have done an eyewash ONCE in my life when I was in uni & pink eye was floating around our dorm for some reason (wtf right XD) & it was actually not too terrible… I think I would be brave enough to try this though!
Not too sure about the minty eyeball though, lol~ -
I love this stuff as well! I wear circle lenses everyday and used to be into heavy eye make up until recently, so this eyewash was a lifesaver. I also hauled both types of the Lycee eye drops too just because I thought it’d be nifty to have a set.
By the way, I’m addicted to the minty sensation, compared to other Rohto eye drops I own this one is pretty tame. I understand they’re not for everyone but the tingly feeling just wakes me right up! Maybe I’m a masochist?
-
I had one of those mint eyedrops a while ago. It came in a blue bottle back then though. I remember a burning sensation in my eyeballs… personally didn’t like it at all lol. I was actually afraid of all eyedrops after that…
-
i should try this one *O*
I still use Rohto Zi haha -
I’ve always wanted to buy the eye wash lotion because I have chronic dry eye but I’m too lazy (the fact that the price tag is way higher than regular old eyedrops…) Glad to read they’re so refreshing! I am also apprehensive about the minty eyeball thing, especially since I’ve had a lot of trouble with eyedrops that aren’t safe for contacts… :(
-
I’ve always wanted to try those eyedrops, but I never knew that eye wash existed! I really want to get some now, because even though I don’t use lenses much, I think it’s help perk up my tired eyes heh~!
-
aaaagh that minty eye stuff. i love it and hate it lo~l my ex was sort of addicted to using it, so it reminds me of him but…i love the way it makes my eyes feel +_+
and now i’m going to have to see if there is some verson of that eyewash stuff here! my eyes feel SO dry by the end of the day i always think about just sticking my head under the skin or something dumb~
-
I love the Lycee eyedrops! When I visited Japan last summer, I bought myself 3 non-minty ones for contacts and now I carry them everywhere. But I’ve noticed the prices for them on some online shops are quite overpriced since I got mine on sale for only 450 yen.
But nonetheless, the packaging is so super cute so what’s there not to like when it’s pink! ヽ(*´∀`*)ノ ♡
-
Oooh~ I might have to try this. After a day of contacts my eyes are so tired! This should be like a spa for them XD
I love Lycee eyedrops. The cooling effect is so nice! -
Oh my, I’m one of those paranoid people about opening their eyes in water too! And that ad actually makes me a lil’ scared. XD Shooting eye wash into your eyes? Hee.
I’ve heard some really GREAT reviews about Rohto though, I do want to try them!! I wish sasa would carry these! And the pink packaging is just too adorable to resist as well. Can you tell I’m a sucka for cute packaging? LOL~ XD -
OMG does… does it hurt???
-
At first I read it was “pink eye wash”. x_X
I had no clue these things existed. I never knew your eyeballs would ever need to be scented unless it was rotting or something. Who would have thought of that? Lol.
-
The eyewash process seems scary.. and I don’t even mind opening my eyes under water. The whole suction process makes me shiver just thinking about it!
I can never seem to find these Rohto eyedrops at my local Mitsuawa or Marukai markets, and these minty eyedrops for contact lens seem like they’d be the cure for my dry eyes whenever I wear contacts, esp. my circle lens.
-
MUST HAVE IT!!
i’ve always lovedloveloved the rohto line & to see that they have some especially for contacts?! gasp! must have!!!!! thanks so much for sharing! -
SO COOOL! i wanna try!
-
Hmm… the color and rose scent scare me a little… :O but it looks like it would help clean eyeshadow and mascara flakes out of eyes. Maybe I will give it a try (might need a shot of vodka beforehand tho) XD
-
o _ o i remember watching cms of this WHEN I WAS A WEE LASS BUT ALAS, COULDN’T BUY IT SINCE IN THE WRONG CONTINENT WOE IS MY LIFE (ノд-。)
lol /caps
-
I bought the eyedrops one in Tokyo . I have no idea how to use it . Use it when I’m wearing contacts or after contacts ?
-
I’ve been wondering about those eye washes..! Lol Every time I come to your blog, I say the same thing, sorry =X But seriously! I wanted to get some but I was always scared to open my eyes under water toooo..!! ;w; Big wimp, but now I wanna try. My eyes always feel so grimy, especially after wearing lenses =/ Maybe I’ll try to pick some up soon! Thanks!!♥
-
I swear by this stuff, it’s the best!
I usually buy three of the big bottles because I pretty much use it everyday =D
-
AHHHH those are actually bad for your eyes >: I used to have eye infections a lot due to excessive circle wearing. I wore them like 10 hours a day three times a week. These claim to soothe your eyes but its just temporarily relieving the redness and covering up dry eyes with that stingy minty sensation. In fact when I take my circles off and use rohto, my eyes sting like no tomorrow. I start crying and seeing bright lights (symptoms of cornea abrasion).
However when I don’t wear circles during the day and I use it, it feels fine.
I guess these are okay if you dont wear circles and have dry eyes every once in a while…
The best eyedrops are still the artificial tears ones. I know from a long experience from going from MD to MD trying to figure out wtf was wrong with my eyes >:
-
Woah, that’s crazy! It actually washes your eyes??*__* I’ve never even seen anything like this before… It sounds great, though! ♥ I’d love to try it someday~
-
whoa. i think the only reason why the ad looks kinda creepy is that the suction cup makes it look like you’re gouging your eyes hahaha /scarythought. @_@;
either way, it sounds pretty useful for an eye makeup remover. might check out my local jp store to see if they have it in stock. ohh, how i love it when you review new useful things! :D i i haven’t been in your blog in such a while too, looool~ hopefully i can comment more this time. :)
-
I was wondering what the nipple looking thing was for! Where can one buy this online?
-
The lycee stuff looks really great! I wear my contacts everyday for hours (and they’re the tougher astigmatism kind too) and if I don’t switch them out a lot my eyes get really dry. So I’d like to try these! Plus they look fun/crazy to use *squish *squish. Just another crazy thing for my roommate to wonder about (like my earpick! lol) About how much is it??
-
Oooh, I’ve always wondered if it worked well – since I saw an ad in Popteen..! Seems like a good idea to soothe dry eyes after contact use~! =D
-
omogosh minty eyeballs?? lol. Do they smell like lychees too? lol! :D
-
Def something I’ll try as my eyes are affected by everything. (they are like particle & irritant magnets ;D) thanks for bringing it out there.
I agree w/ you on the contact drops… they’re ok. I actually wouldn’t buy them again as I was expecting them to clear up my eyes a bit? I donno if that was even advertised on the packaging haha.
-
I’ve always used Rhoto for my contact needs. :) I think the eyedrops are amazing! I’ve gotten so used to them, I can’t imagine not having that cool, refreshed feeling for your eyes, haha. I haven’t tried the eye wash lotion yet, maybe I will next time I visit JUSCO. :P
-
thanks a lot for this review, my lil sis and i saw an ad for this years ago in a japanese fashion magazine but didn’t know what it was or how to use it now that we know i’m going to order her some
-
Yeah, eye wash really freaks me out. I remember when Ray got some metal in his eye and he had to go the hospital to get it picked out and then was told to use eye wash for about a week later… I used to squirm just watching him. But he was so brave! Didn’t have trouble with it all!
-
i’ve got a bottle as well…dont use it so often xdd how you think of it?
-
I just ordered this eye wash and I’m so excited about it! :) Every little crap gets into my eye; makeup bits, dirt, small insects. Meh. So I hope this thing will help me keep my eyes more healthy. Especially because I wear circle lenses almost every day, with makeup of course; and my eyes often hurt because of this.
I also use the eyedrops, I really like them tho. Before I only used regular eyedrops and compared to those, Rohto Lyceé is the best!
Man, I get so many great ideas from your blog. :D

Wow… that ad was a little bit scary… I can’t imagine using this product yet I’m curious about it XD
