Sweet x Betsey Johnson

The August issue of Sweet included this really useful makeup carrier from a Betsey Johnson collaboration. I REALLY LOVE the pattern and color scheme! :deco1: It’s so… tame! It’s more Cath Kidston than Betsey Johnson to me. :P I was really excited to get it actually because I need a new solution for my daily makeup. :celebrate: I take my makeup with me so I need good travel solutions. Lately I’ve been doing my makeup for work a bit heavier. Just having some summer fun I guess. So I’ve been carrying more than usual with me.

After I got everything in it now takes up less space before in my bag! I’m so happy! :deco8: I can bring multiple options of shadows and blushes now easily with me. :ok: :deco2: The bag itself has two zip side pockets and a removable large middle zip pouch that adheres with velcro. It fastens at the top with a snap button. Here’s hoping the quality is good & it lasts! :deco4:

    It doesn’t really have that shocking Betsey Johnson feel, but it looks amazing anyway. :) Floral patterns are love~

      Surprisingly the spread for Betsey was quite the usual roses and leopard style. I think this is the one subdued pattern she had in the new collection lol

    Both the pouch AND the model looks pretty :P I love the gold-ish pouch. And you’re right! SO Cath Kidston!

      Yeah I really see more Cath here than Betsey but both ladies love roses so I can’t be too surprised. I’m actually really happy it’s a more sweet pattern they chose and not her usual wild child patterns :). But that’s just my personal preference.

    The print on the bag is so adorable! I’m not that familiar with Betsey Johnson as far as clothes are concerned, but I do love their line of shoes and earrings. :3

      LOVE HER EARRINGS!!!! Her clothing line is touch & go for me. Some seasons it’s really to my tastes and others it’s for more trendy wild child type girls :). Lately it’s all roses and animal print combinations. :)

      It’s a blessing AND a curse to be honest. When stuff isn’t organized I can easily get very upset over it LOL, so, curse portion.

      Really I was quite happy with this issue. Sometimes August issues are a bit weak because September is just SO juicy with fall lines but the pre-views were enough to hold me over! Even the UNIQLO spread was nice xDD I’ll be scanning in quite a bit for my inspo folder :) Also excited to see a whole make section + Acuvue circle lenses O_O;; I’ve been hunting those down hoping they come state-side so I could get my insurance to cover them some LOOOOOOOOL

          Ah ok, I wasn’t too far gone then. I thought maybe it was the name of a west coast store too actually. Though we don’t have Fred Meyers here on the east coast so I dunno what that is LOL. They’re not supermarkets… or departments stores… super stores? English fails as a language… LOL

      Actually I don’t think I’ve ever seen this one. I’m familiar with a girl with super long hair that does videos and an ameba that salons post tutorials to but this one looks new to me! Thank you :)v

      Hope it arrives quickly!!!! Mine was a few days stalled. The bookstore had their shipment in before me. It’s the same company and usually I get mine before they get theirs xD

    It looks so sweet and cute, if I had make up to carry around I would for sure get it as well! (:
    I wish there was a big version of a bag with similar coloring, I could just buy it for an everyday bag. :)

      I dunno if it would make a good bag for anything other than makeup. Even if it were bigger. But the print is nice and is a part of the Betsey fall line! Probably will be available in a purse form :)

    Certainly they toned down the Betsey look SO much because Sweet’s readers are not the type for the usual Betsey style hehe. I was thinking about getting it since I am a Betsey fan, so this review is really helpful!! Now I still don’t know if I should get it or just pay for a normal run makeup bag (though of course I already have one, I just need more Betsey!!)

      I have a full on Sephora travel all 3 fold codmetics bag to store ALL my makeup at home. Before that I had like 6 pouches of randomness x( I do NOT regret that purchase at all xD

      Yes, yes! Romantic Betsey! She used to do more of these types of print styles a few years ago but I haven’t seen much of it lately. It’s so nice :)

      A bit also like vintage Betsey, I think. A few years ago she did a very roses & white line… sorta Liz Lisa style which was SO BEAUTIFUL. This print here reminds me of that collection :D

    I love freebies! Years ago I bought a Japanese magazine in New York that came with a zipper bag which I have been using as a makeup bag ever since! Yours is super cute and makes everything organized~!! I hope it lasts for a long time!!

    As soon as I read this post, I went out and got this issue..! I loooove Betsy Johnson, and I can’t get any of her stuff in Osaka. Also, I needed a new make-up pouch seeing as the last one I got (also from a magazine lol) was starting to fall apart.
    And you’re totally right. It doesn’t really look like a BJ item but that’s kind of nice too..! I can’t wait to visit home so I can get more Betsy stuff..!♥

      It’s actually a pretty good issue BUT I’d stop at Kinokuniya and flip through an opened issue or download the scans first since liking it is all relative. Sweet is definitely a pricier import thanks to its hefty weight.

    This is a lot like my makeup bag, but this one is much cuter. I had it out this morning at the gym where only one other lady and I were putting on makeup while everyone else rushed out with wet hair. I mentally high fived my fellow makeup user. Anyway…I’m thinking I’d like this Sweet magazine, but I know I should hold on to my money. And there are so many other things I want. Feeling so avaricious lately.

      HAHAHAHA I feel this exact same way with my cubicle neighbor at work! We both get in early without makeup then do it at our desks around the same time xDDD No one else sees us without makeup but each other bwahaha

    Ah, I LOVE bags like this! Recently got a new bathroom bag and it has CHANGED MY LIFE. I can fit things inside now!! (hahaha) But I love this type of pink floral pattern…for whatever reason it reminds me of my childhood and it’s so classy. ;)
