Old Navy Accessories

Mostly hair accessories and a set of earrings. :suki:

I love the brown bow barrette. It’s a smaller size than the popular American Apparel one but still a similar fabric and style. I like it because it’s sweet but not too overpowering so I think it’s good for mature looks. :P

The lace ribbon hairpins are a bit more girly :deco1: and I want to use them in a hair bun style.

And the lebkuchen clip!!!!! :) It’s silly and cutesy but I had to get it!!

Lastly fabric petal earring studs. I try not to buy cheap earrings these days because only my lower ear piercing can wear them, but these were really sweet and large enough that I wouldn’t want to wear them in my top piercing anyway :). :ok: My top piercings can wear cheap “forever 21 cheap” earrings now but I’m still reluctant. :dizzy: They sometimes get irritated by them. So I stick to slightly higher quality metals for now.

I haven’t been into Old Navy in a couple of months so I don’t know how long they’ve had these accessories in store. I was surprised. :!?: Old Navy always had some accessories but this was set up in the middle of the store rack after rack. :deco13: I think they had more than H&M and Forever 21 combined! lolol

But… I’m puzzled and I wanted to see if anyone might know the answers. I tried Google and their official site but no luck. First off, where are these from?! They look European imported. The back lists the Euro price first and the USD price uses a comma, not a period. :x It also lists the product as imported to the US from Germany. This would explain the cute choices I haven’t really seen in US stores. :deco2:

Also, Old Navy plasters its name on everything but this lacks ANY Old Navy branding. It just says “ACCESSORIES” on the front.

So I feel that this might be just a beta test to see if they should expand their accessories maybe????? Does anyone else have these in their stores too? :?:

  2. Ingrid says:

Well you know how slow Canada is with these things… we probably won’t see this accessories line for two years probably. I love cheap jewelry though, great picks Jenny!

hey there, been reading your blog for some time and wanted to mention that the old navy where i live has a whole section of this stuff too. they even had a ton of owl stuff too XD

    • jenny says:

I saw the owl stuff!!!! Honestly if I bought everything I saw owl I’d be drowning in them. So thankfully I have restraint. But I’m glad to know my store wasn’t the only one. I hadn’t been in it for a while :(

  8. Mika says:

Those lace bows are so cute :3

I haven’t been in an Old Navy in ages (to be completely honest, I don’t think my mall even has one). But if they’re going to start carrying accessories like this, I think I might start going!

i love the lace ribbon hairpins! always use these type of hairpins for buns, or sometimes just clipping my hair to the side to add a kawaii touch.

  10. ShuShu ♥ says:

  11. Momo says:

I may can hep with this confusion! The brad is called ACCESSORIES here and it has a lot of shops in Germany with this name.

  12. Miyanko says:

Oh!! We also have that brand in Hungary! And there is the Hungarian HuF (Hungarian Forint) price on it. That’s really interesting… They have some really cute stuff and great variety! ^-^ All the accessories you bought are very lovely btw.

  13. The accessories are so cute! I like the lace ribbons, you can perfectly see them in any mori magazine or something. Show us the outfits you wear with them!

  14. Yukimi says:

I have seen these kinds of accessories in a few different shops here in Germany.
Like in malls…Not shop-related actually.. I have never heard of Old Navy though! (ô.ô)

    • jenny says:

Hmm, I don’t think Old Navy has too many international stores. It’s related to Gap and Banana Republic but cheaper family clothing :)

  15. Michelle says:

I have never seen any of these accessories at the Old Navy stores that I go to! That’s crazy! I love them all, especially the ribbons!

  16. Lisa says:

Those are so adorable. I haven’t been to an Old Navy in years. I may have to check it out again sometime soon. Thanks for sharing!

  17. Miya says:

I love your retail merchandising analysis of why there are cute hair accessories in Old Navy. hahah.

  18. Lina Kim says:

I love the tiny lacey hair pin on the first pic, they look cute

  19. Courtney says:

What an interesting find…it definitely seems like they’re imported! (I feel like the comma is a giveaway :P ) But I feel like a LOT of stores are moving further away from just “jeans & t-shirt fashion” and are therefore putting a lot more effort into accessories big and small. Or maybe I’m just noticing it now?? haha
Either way these are really cute :)
BTW, do you tend to wear these accessories for a long time? If I buy something like this I wear it like 5 times and then forget I have it for some reason. Maybe poor organization. orz

It really depends on whether or not it was an impulse buy. I try hard not to impulse buy hair accessories but it happens because they’re usually so cheap.

The brown bow I had been wanting. I was going to break down & get an AA one but I wasn’t crazy about their size. So I’ve already worn the bow a lot! But the little bobby pins might only get worn a few times unless I fall in love with them or something.

My barrettes I bought this summer I hunted down and therefore really, really wanted! I’ve worn them countless times. But last winter I bought these black ribbon lace bobby pins from Forever 21 on a whim and only have worn them a handful of times despite seeing them in my vanity on an almost daily basis.

If it’s something I wanted I’ll wear over & over but my impulse purchase ones always sit in my drawer.

  20. Weeeell, I am from Germany and the “packaging” e.g. the plastic thing looks a lot like the ones that are used for fashion jewellery here! Many stores use this exact “packaging”, so I guess it’s from one big but nameless company.

  21. Anastasia says:

Whaaat I’ll have a look see at mine because those are surprisingly cutesy for Old Navy! So great

  22. Ewa says:

Hello! I’m from Poland and I have the same brand here with “ACCESSORIES” on the front (PLN is for the Polish, btw) (。◕‿◕。)✿

I’ve bought a set of lovely earrings recently. So cuute~

  23. Tori says:

Hm, that is really interesting… I bet you’re right that they’re just ‘test’ items since they really don’t look like ’standard’ Old Navy accessories (aka socks & tights, hahaha) Those bobby pins are so cute ♥

    • jenny says:

IKR. I think I bought a necklace from ON about 5 years ago and only ever remembered them having a super select few that are displayed on their endcaps.

  24. Denny says:

That chip is the cutest! *A*
And I so agree with you on the earrings part! Only my first (bottom) one can take the cheap earrings, the top ones get super irritated, so I only stick to silver/gold. Although recently I’ve been trying cheap material earrings and I notice that the holes are getting used to it! Still not a perfect resistance though!

    • jenny says:

This is my situation exactly!!! My bottom piercings are like 10 years older than my tops and I remember it took them a while too to be 100% ok with cheap. So I just sit & wait. I can wear nickel posts but it’ll itch after a day of wear in the top ones. So mostly I use gold plated silver or brass.

    • Kim-Mari says:

      Yep ditto,

I only have one extra higher up hole on my left lobe but it can’t handle cheaper stuff of more than a few hours. Basically I can put something costume in it but it gets irritated easily so I try to keep to silver~ My longest cheap/costume wear in the upper pierce has been 4 hours…

      • jenny says:

It takes such a long time to “fully” heal. I got mine back in April and can go about a day but definitely can’t wear cheap ones in my new piercings two days in a row.

  25. M says:

    definitely cute
and i havent seen them before either
maybe ill check ‘em out in the future

  26. chocoNIKKI says:

What?! Old navy has accessories at all? Lucky! I don’t think they have these in Canada… We get nothing except snow… (Okay, it’s not always snowing, but the States usually has more products even if it’s the same chain store)

I especially like the small white bows, and the bussi clip~! Very toned-down cute~! =D

  27. z says:

old navy’s importing from europe now!?! probably for competition. i think it’s awesome though, these styles that you’ve picked up are really quite kitschy and cute!

  28. Alisa says:

ACCESSORIES is sold in our drugstore here in Germany!
