SANA’s Soy Milk Skin Care

Monday May 21, 2012

For the past 2 months I’ve really been enjoying SANA’s Nameraka Honpo Soy Milk skincare line. [なめらか本舗]

I was looking to replace my night cream which also used soy as a main ingredient so I decided to give this line a shot. I was having a long stream of bad luck trying to find a replacement for my discontinued cream. Most everything breaks me out.

After using the Nameraka line though I was feeling positive again!

Soy Milk Whitening Cream – Lavish face cream treats skin to unparalleled skin whitening and hydrating with arbutin and natural soy milk. Powerful water binders trap moisture close to skin’s surface to keep skin supple and hydrated round the clock. After cleansing and toning skin, gently massage cream evenly on skin and pat in until fully absorbed. Colorant and mineral free formula makes it suitable even for sensitive skin types. By SANA.

My favorite item is the Soy Milk Whitening Cream. I use it as my night cream now. It helps fade blotchiness and acne scars as well as lightly moisturize. The key part though, it doesn’t seem to break me out. A little goes a long way with this cream. It does have a bit of a greasy film to it and if I put too much on it won’t all absorb. But I’ve figured out the amount I need to use now. So for now my night cream woes are over!

Soy Milk Q10 Essence – Luxurious beauty essence quickly sinks into skin without leaving a heavy or sticky feeling behind. Fermented soymilk, CoQ10 and isoflavone moisturize skin for renewed elasticity and suppleness. Upon application, skin feels smoother and healthier with an attractive luster. Can also be used as a makeup base. Best for dry and sensitive skin types. By SANA.

I also really like the Soy Milk Q10 Essence. It’s a clear glossy essence that contains 300% more soymilk, Q10 and isoflavone to give skin elasticity and luster. I use this about 3 times a week.

I feel it can be a little tacky to the touch sometimes when not fully adsorbed so I tend to wear it when I’m not planning to wear makeup. However when I use it my skin really glows. So I don’t worry that I’m not wearing makeup. The first time I used it I couldn’t believe the effects! I even got compliments on my skin that day. Since then the results are still good. The difference isn’t as dramatic now that my skin has gotten better from using it. It doesn’t break me out and I feel it really heals discoloration and any dry spots more quickly than my other creams.

Soy Milk Q10 Cleansing Wash – Rich, foaming cleanser is infused with C0Q10 and Isoflavone to help maintain skin’s optimum moisture level while providing a deep cleansing action that whisks away makeup, excess sebum and other surface dirt and impurities. For softer and smoother skin, wash face twice a day with the foaming cleanser and follow with toner and moisturizer. Best for dry and sensitive skin types. By SANA.

Lastly the face wash. Soy Milk Q10 Cleansing Wash. It’s a pretty good face wash. It does a decent job of removing makeup and left my skin feeling clean. However, I tend to be incredibly sensitive with washes and this was no exception. Though it didn’t cause me break outs, it did aggravate existing clogged pores and black heads. Turning a tiny black head into a huge swollen cyst. This happens quite often I find with my skin. Most people probably wouldn’t have the same reaction. I’m extremely acne-prone as I’ve said many times before.

    Wow, 300% soymilk? Oooh~
I’ve seen this skincare line around, but never really bothered to take a closer look. The Soy Milk Whitening Cream is interesting! Thanks for sharing. :)

I fell in love with this line after you posted a haul from yesstyle featuring these! I agree the cream gets really greasy if you use too much.
I might give the essence a try as well since I have quite a few scars and discolorations on my face from acne as well~

I also just bought the Q10 cleansing wash & toner from this line. I don’t think I’ll be able to use it in the near future, I have too many skincare products opened at the moment. It’ll be a waste to just open another new one.

I use the original cleansing wash at night, but I have started to notice little clogged pores around my nose >.

    Thanks for this review!
I was wondering between getting this line or the Hadanomy Collagen line, so it clears a bit my doubts.

I tried the Hadanomy wash and at first it seemed OK but then caused me a break out. The masks gave me zits the next morning .. so yeah. I know it’s a great line so I was disappointed my skin rejected it. Plus it smelled amazing. This soy milk line though lacks ant lovely scent but works better for my skin.

Oh, I’ve always wanted to try this brand out. I’ve been hearing/reading heaps of reviews about them online. My current night cream is almost running out too so maybe I’ll give the soy milk whitening cream a try when I finish using my night cream. ;)

  8. Emy says:

My god that brand seriously helps out with dry skin! :)

  9. rene says:

Sounds good! Maybe I shall switch to this after I finish using my Curel!

Japanese products are really so superb, aren’t they? Usually I feel a bit paranoid about trying out new skin care products, fearing that I’d break out. But in Japan, I could try any product and my skin will come out so great~ Ha ha!

  11. Tori says:

It sounds heavenly with the soy milk, but just the thought of using something with a creamy base on my super-oily skin makes me cringe ;x I’m glad at least the whitening cream worked out for you!

  12. Courtney says:

i would love to try the one that makes your skin seem to glow…sounds like the effects are amazing :)
I’ve been using whitening cream for a few weeks off and on at night (and day) to help with acne scars and other marks…I’ve been really happy with the results! I guess your night cream is similar ? :) or maybe that’s what makes a night cream a night cream

I just bought the night cream today, after reading your review post on it! I’m a bit excited since I’ve heard many many great things about it. Would you say that it works similarly to the Q10 Essence?
I have Combo/Oily, acne prone, and sensitive skin as well. Been trying to find a new skincare regime and it’s hard..

I also bought the face lotion toners from the moisturizing and Q10 line. Not sure which one to keep and return without opening them..
Thanks for posting your thoughts, I really appreciate it. Your blog is great!

Hello! I wanted to drop by and say thank you for reviewing this product. I saw your blog post in passing many months ago and then saw this product in store about 2 months ago and bought it. I’m glad I did! I broke out pretty badly when I first moved into Japan in the summer with all the yucky heat and humidity, and it’s significantly cleared up! ヽ( ・∀・)ノAnd my face breaks out easily too, so I was a little nervous about trying new products. I’m really curious about the rose item you posted more recently, so if I see it the next time I’m at a drugstore, I’ll pick it up. Again, thank you! And I think I’ll be following your blog a bit more from now on.
