I’m Back From Japan!
Thursday, Sep. 18, 2008 | 58 Comments
I’m back! Jet lag and all. I’m still trying to adjust to being home & being back at work
. But nevertheless, Japan was perfection.. PERFECTION.! The only bad part was having to leave :bai:. I don’t know where to begin!!
So much to share, so many wonderful experiences!
I met up with my long time penpal and friend.
Mike calls us “soul mates.” She was amazing~~
Hanging out with her felt so natural, as if it was something we did every weekend. I got to spend 2 full days with her and saying goodbye… well, there were a lot of tears needless to say
. That’s what I miss more than anything… I miss my friend
… a lot. BUTTTTT no more tears! I want to focus on the happy things! like
!!
ALSO, huge THANKS to every wonderful person who congratulated me and commented!! I mean… wow!
It really means a lot to me. And a special hello to all of those 1st time commenters! I appreciate you guys coming out of the wood work and waving hello! I hope this blog continues to be a fun place you guys can stalk :good:  heeheehee
So I was thinking, how can I update without loading all 3GB worth of photos or boring the crap out of people with psycho long paragraphs???
So I figured I’ll just post stuff by relevance :good: OKAY, so here’s 5 things I did or LOVED!

- Cher Store!

It was a tiny little boutique on a side street in Harajuku packed to the fullest! It was so surreal shopping there! The sign is smaller than a license plate!
I tried on a few things and ended up purchasing a lovely long cashmere cardigan. It’s the most expensive article of clothing I’ve ever bought and it was a dream come true! I also got the smaller Cher eco bag & another large bag with my purchase
. Wish I had remembered to take more photos :( :( I was just too excited at the store!
- Mt. Fuji

Stayed at a beautiful ryokan :ladeeda: where each of their only 6 rooms had a private onsen and ofuro. It was the Onsenji Yumedono located in the Kawaguchiko area. The miracle that I was able to even get tickets to the area using my total fail Japanese was enough to make me shrill with success and glory
.It was total relaxation and
So beautiful there.
- Shibuya 109

It was so surreal just being there. It was better than I imagined. A lot of the shops have current magazine issues opened to some page where their clothes were featured which I thought was cool and wonderfully shameless!
The stores are so open there! Each one flows into the next. No huge cold entrances like US malls. It felt more like a giant party than shopping! Maybe that’s what made it so easy to spend, hahaha, more on what I bought later. I was too busy shopping to take photos. I kinda hate living through a camera lens so I tuck it in my bag & forget so easily!
- 着ぐるみ

My friend took us to ドン キホーテ in Kabukichō and amongst the craziness I ended up in the kigurumi section. She immediately encouraged me to get 1 because they are “so cute and fun”
:!:!! AS IF I NEEDED CONVINCING! My ギャル ラブ was already screaming BUY IT from within!
She helped me pick one out. Tough decision! Every style I had ever seen was there. It came down to Marie, Hello Kitty, generic cat, and Pooh. Then I saw リラックマ
and knew that was the one I wanted. YAY for San-X kigurumi
- Purikura

プリクラ! So awesome to finally be able to get some of my own! Tragically I lost a lot of sheets when packing up to leave. *devastated*
But at least none of them were the ones I took with my friend ! Mike once stomached 3 separate trips in 1 day to various arcades for プリクラ. So nice of him… you can tell he’s less than enthusiastic in some… he really hated the ones that required him to squat down to fit on screen, hahahahha! That’s LOVE!

OKAY, well maybe this has still been a bunch of photos and overwhelming text. SORRY!!! Thank you to everyone who has sent congratulations cards. I truly appreciate it. I haven’t even gotten a card from any family yet, so dear friends… it means SO MUCH.
Till the next update~~~ more to come
