Popteen’s Kumicky a Year’s Time (65) 
I thought I’d share some amusing images from Popteen’s October 2008 and Popteen’s October 2009 issues. I was flipping through the older 10/08 issue the other night. (I often keep old issues for reading in the bath because I don’t care if they get wet, anywhooooooo 
) and I noticed just how DIFFERENT Kumicky looked. Kumiko, Kumicky, Kumickey, Kumikki, Kumikkii, … Popteen can’t freakin’ decide on the romaji they want to use for her stupid nickname. It’s a bit annoying as an English reader. The Wild West that is the world of katakana! 
I’ve seen it written in various ways in Popteen and online so it’s probably safer to go with くみっきー or even better, 舟山久美子! LOOL 
I usually go with Kumicky (sans the “e) because I’ve seen it that way the most in Popteen. Though since it’s a supposed play on Mickey Mouse you’ll randomly see it Kumickey too.
I don’t claim to be any sort of Popteen expert, trust me. I only started subscribing to the magazine this summer when they picked up more Agejou style and I only love it for the Shibuhara style~ 
This issue I got while in Japan. It’s post Tsubasa retirement but pre-agejou & shibuhara times. And, just in case anyone cares, may favorite models are actually Jun Komori and Nana Suzuki.

They had a whole little write up this summer over her weight loss. Personally she’s too skinny for me IMO. Not even in a medical “your bmi is failing” opinion but in a genuine “I wanna be teh skinny too but not THAT skinny,” opinion. I might be a bit biased though because Mike caught a glimpse of her this summer and commented that he hopes I don’t plan to lose so much weight that I’d look like that because her legs gross him out. But thankfully it’s winter now so all the poky bones are covered up and she looks cute and I’m not distracted by how frail her arms & legs look. 
But I’m not gonna knock the girl. I mean, the weight loss is probably a big factor to her being the current golden child of Popteen.
This isn’t a “God I hate Kumicky” post either. I like her, she’s adorable, she’s young, she’s just trying to do what everyone wants her to do. Others can complain all they like but she SELLS magazines. She’s the most popular of Popteen models right now. If you go check all the models’ blogs her comment section is a heavy hitter compared to many of the other models who are featured monthly. She’s adored. If her weight loss got her there, than so be it. And yes, she is their god-send Tsubasa replacement right now so, yes, she’s gonna be copying Tsubasa’s style. She’s 18~ she’s not old enough or mature enough or popular enough to honestly establish her own style and trends.

Vivienne Westwood Shoes (55)
I ordered these Vivienne Westwood Mary-Jane’s the other day from Gilt.com and they arrived today. I ordered the soft pink pair.
So I called up GILT and told them the mix up. THANKFULLY THEY HAD 1 PAIR OF SOFT PINK LEFT IN 6! They said this 1 pair of purple must have randomly gotten mixed in with the pinks because no one else has called with the same problem. They weren’t even SELLING the purple style! So I’m returning these, ordered the soft pinks again, and they’ll refund my credit card in full including shipping. They were really understanding.
The purples ARE pretty still! But I wanted the pink because it’s easier to match with clothing I already own. I am happy to say I could at least try them on and the fit was great! Really soft & comfortable! Plus the shoes smell like bubble gum! THAT’S RIGHT, BUBBLEGUM SCENTED! I read that they were scented but the GILT description didn’t mention it so I wasn’t 100% positive mine would.

I’d be more upset if I hadn’t bought a pair of pink pumps last night for $32.00 $8.00 on sale~!
For $8.00 they’re not bad. 
So at least I get to wear SOME new shoe tomorrow, hahaha 
Shopping has been so touch & go with me lately. Tuesday I went to H&M to buy a sweater I’ve been wanting. I’ve seen it over & over but always talked myself out of it. Well this time I decided I’m getting it! They only had 2 left but 1 was thankfully in my size

Then I noticed….
BIG RED DYE STAIN ALL DOWN THE SIDE!
RAWR! 
And the damages discount was only 10% off a $30 top. So I walked away.
The other size they had was much too big. sigh~ 
You’d think I’d learn my lesson by now! But no. This weekend I plan on going to an outlet mall that’s fairly new. Never been either. They have SAKS off 5th and the Barney’s NY outlet 
Now if I receive my re-ordered shoes in purple again…. I’LL SWEAR OFF SHOPPING TILL CHRISTMAS! I SWEAR!!!
