Yes, it’s a college rant.

I hate my summer courses. I hate programming. I’m about to graduate with a Software Engineering degree and I hate programming. Well, at least the programming WE do. Only a handful of my courses have been helpful to me as a Web Developer. I know I probably should have majored in Graphic Design & a minor in Software. Sadly, you can’t do it the other way around either. I didn’t know the only Web Dev. Professor was going to leave my sophmore year. Maybe I should have majored in Foreign Languages like I had originally planned. I don’t know. I still love creating web pages and foreign languages are just more of a hobby. Too bad I can’t afford to stay in college =T (a different college of course too.)
I got a 70 on my Java mid-term exam. I was ecstatic!! Then the professor showed all the grades. I had made the lowest and not by a few points but an entire letter grade lower. The next lowest score was an 80. Sigh, there are many reasons for this. Unlike the other kids (many who have had Java before) I don’t have much free time to go home & re-teach myself Java. The professor is nice, but he sucks. His teaching style is the worst for me. He just reads off 30 slides each class then assigns programs due. He doesn’t even say which examples in the book can help with the assignment, wait, he doesn’t even USE the book for that matter!! A wasted 90$ So here we are in chapter 10 and I’m pretty behind. I just want a D. I don’t care if I get all D’s this semester, I just WANT the credit so I can GRADUATE AND LEAVE!!!! My GPA can handle triple D’s thankfully so bring em on!.
I’m trying to cram for a quiz I have today in Java while here at work. Work has gotten too hectic and I can’t really study here anymore.

I LOVE graphic design! it’s something I could do for the rest of my life! you know how they say if you find the work you love to do, then you will never have to work, i hope you find a job you love! ^^
i took programming for two years…i didn’t really enjoy it, so i kind of feel your pain. You make wonderful websites(a real talent). Do what makes you happy, that’s the most important thing^___^
I love webdesign as well, but it’s too bad that you didn’t get to major in that instead. :/
Good luck with everything though!
And for me, I found a host, so thanks~
Wow, been a while, eh? ^__^; OMG I HATE TEACHERS LIKE THAT!! I remember those ppl and mentally blacklist them. What’s worse are the ones who are NOT nice and have sucky teaching methods ARGH. Well good luck programming. Hopefully all goes well ^__^
I’m sorry that you’re going through this. I hope you can get through it! :’
Aww, sorry to hear you are not as excited about your major as before. Hopefully you will get the grades to pass and be done with school and find a cool job that will make you like it again, lol.
I’m sorry about all this but you WILL pass! Just try not to worry about the bad stuff and focus on gradutaing and learn everything you can on what you need to. Good luck!!
YO ~ u still passed so It’s alright~ think about the bright side of things!!!
o yea do u have any new scans of the magazine?? ^^
im sorry to hear that everything is going downhill =__=; argh school sucks
Aw, good luck with the rest of your semester. Luckily, most jobs don’t care about your GPA =) All of the interviews I went to didn’t even ask for proof of a degree actually, haha.
i pulled out of java in uni, that shit was just to hard for me o.O
Blah, I took a semester class of Java and I HATED IT. I like teaching myself computer languages I don’t really like being taught and having due dates on everything :/
Aww~ hang in there! / Ganbatte kudasaiiii !!!
s’ok you can do it! you go gurl of the kats
mucho love
Concentrate on the theory stuff. As a grad student in Software Engineering (and one who appreciates good Design), theory matters. Java is a tool. Tools will change. Don’t get so down. SE isn’t for everyone, even if you have a degree in it.
Were you able to get some new tricks and learn some new stuff from the project? Even if it is scrapped, all is not lost, then, right? ‘Cause you still got something out of it (like being able to pay rent, at least)
