stay with me now… EYES OPEN!

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 | 17 Comments

If I were to type about my days, I’d bore myself. So today I was thinking about whether or not I want to take Mike’s name when we marry. I originally said, “no.” But typing up so many emails at work today, I realized if I did I would have 4 less keystrokes to hassle with!!! Altogether my name is 15 letters long <___<, DAMN MY PARENTS! I have my reasons to not take it, then I have my reasons TO take it. I’ll go into this as the wedding approaches. Right now, I’m VERY tired.

Work… work has been so busy. I’m busy… I’m tired. What can I say? Huge project, and I’m still kinda new to this 9-5 gig. It’s barely been a year so far. So this is really my first SUPER PRESSURE/BUSY time with an actual career. I’m gonna be fine, I’m just mentally exhausted from it some days.

OK. I got to indulge in a few photos today. First two are gifts from my friend in Tokyo, the 3rd is candy from Jenii! Followed by photos of my newest issues of Non-no & Zipper.

EDIT// *Just in reply to the comments so far, yes I adore my last name. It’s Italian and I LOOOOVE it. I think when using Mike’s last name it doesn’t sound as good. But this is just 1 of the cons. There are pros too, of course :3. And I love the suggestion you made Sasha!*

I’m so taking Matt’s name when I marry ’cause I hate mine~ people always mispronounce & spell it wrong.

You can do it yo!! It takes a while to get in the swing of things. Seems like you have done well so far so just keep at it and try to get plenty of rest.

ahh.. hard decision! Is your last name really bad? Mine is terrible, I have not ever met a non-Polish-speaking person that could pronounce it (only 1/9 letters is a vowel).

My mom has her maiden name as her middle name, and her last name as my dad’s… I think that is what I would probably do (should the day ever come).

hopefully work quiets down for you soon!

I took Manuel’s last name. I didn’t think twice about it. I didn’t like not having the same last name as Kaylie, hahahahaha~

I love my maiden though but hypenating it would be so terrible (too long and sounds bad), LOL. People always mispronounced it too, but with my new last name it’s no different, ~

BTW, I love your last name. ^0^ Hopefully you’ll come up with some decision soon. Manuel’s grandma did what Shasha suggested. Although she didn’t have a middle name. x__x

Okay, take care, soooo long of a comment, sorry…

AJI ICHIBAN! *cries* I miss that store so much! I absolutely loveloveLOVE their mild-tasting shrimpy flakes! I bought oodles and oodles back at home to mucnh away in front of the computer.. ahh. I’m sorry for rambling.
The new issue of Non-No looks so cute! It makes me wish my hair weren’t so unruly and ick.
Nee be glad your name’s really long. My last name only comprises of three letters, and the name I go by only has four (which is why I have to use my ick first name just to fill out the spaces xD).
Hurra Halloween stuff!!! xDDD

Before my teacher married her fiance, she was often complaining how horrible his last name sounded and she wouldn’t tell us what it was until she invited us personally. Then when they got married, she said she was so happy about her new last name and often kept mentioning it.

I know I’m so excited when I received the email from the meatloaf site. It was so exciting!!! My dad and I are going and he might bring his friend dustin a long. And as for you loving your last name, that’s fine. Don’t let people tell you otherwise.

Although I’d accept her decision, I wouldn’t be too happy if she chose not to take my surname. C’mon serously, who wouldn’t want to be called HA.

Well… it’s really a hard decision. Lain already mentioned it, Chinese ppl usually keeps their maiden names, however, on my mom’s (German) passport she’s using the same name as we do. But then, on her Hongkong ID card is still her maiden name. So confusing!

Seriously, I plan to keep my maiden name, because I still have a Chinese name in the middle and it would look odd if my last name got replaced by some German sounding name. hahahahaha!

eh? oh no!! =__= my last comment doesn’t show up?! how mean ist that? omg… and it wasn’t a longer one…. *cries* it never happened to me before! errr… anyway.

Like Lain already mentioned, Chinese ppl usually keeps their maiden name. So I think I’ll keep mine as well, because I still have a Chinese name in the middle. It would both look and sound odd if my last name got replaced by some other more German sounding name. hahahaha! However, Sasha’s suggestion is pretty fine to me, because I don’t like to have a completely different name than my children… :(

Hmm…that’s a very interesting thing. I think I would definitely keep my last night though. It goes so well with my name and it becauseally defines who I am. I really can’t imagine another name for myself since my name is the best present I have ever receive from my parents.

If you really love your last name, maybe you should keep it. If your name isn’t long, I guess you could add a hyphen and add your husband’s name. But since it’s pretty long…pick which ever one is easier Ohhh, those pictures are so cute^^
