Lazy Off Donuts
Friday, October 17th, 2008 | 22 Comments

Blame the donuts for this particularly lazy entry. Honestly I’ll probably have Japan photos to post straight into 2009, hahaah. My current daily happenings are fairly light (read, boring!) Though we did get an XBOX 360 this week
:*: :*:
I wanted to posts some snaps from an afternoon spent in Tokyo :good: It’s extremely image heavy
:driftingoff:

Coming out from the station you can see it in the distance

It’s actually a very lovely walk, uphill, to the tower with greenery and some older looking homes. It was peaceful despite the nearby busy intersection.

One of the mascots outside the entrance

A view from the main observatory

A glass part of the floor you could stand on & look straight down. Obviously for the sake of causing vertigo.

Mike SERIOUSLY did not want to stand on it with me

CENSORED PURIKURA! Haha, basically just wanted to say they have a few older purikura booths there in the tower too
Tower related of course.

We also hit up Asakusa for an even more super touristy feeling! Hahaha, honestly our mission was to BUY FAMILY GIFTS & SOUVENIRS. You know, because that’s what they wanted. Plum candies and sweet bean pastries and kimono fabric dolls & such. Unlike me who’s ultimate souvenir was a Cher eco bag! :driftingheart:

Kaminarimon

浅草寺

Smoke at the shrine. My friend said you can waft it over your head to bring you intelligence!

My Omikuji fortune turned out bad! So I had Mike tie it for me so I could “leave my bad luck at the shrine.” It said I didn’t studied enough and felt failure *crushing*

Nakamise-dori

pachinko & slots of course~

awe, sunflowers along the streets :ladeeda:

train station
Well, I’m exhausted. I’m feeling better. It’s weird, it’s like I’ve felt I’m “coming down with something” all week yet it never forms into a full blown flu or cold. Sinus perhaps? Perhaps
.

Mmm~ Donuts
Wow. I would be really scared to stand on that glass part. I’m seriously afraid of heights.
Haha, I usually never see sunflowers here.. TT^TT
Glad to hear that you were at least able to leave your bad luck at the shrine. It sounds like the type of luck I’m experiencing right now.
Those donuts look yummy! I’d probably go for the one with sprinkles on it since I really like the texture. Which reminds me, I should probably try to stop by Voodoo Donuts tomorrow while I’m in Portland…
post as much of tokyo as you want, i’ll never get tired.
it’s really fun looking at pictures of tokyo through the eyes of a tourist.mainly because every simplest tiny detail is a fascination! i know i’ll be as much as like you when i get to tokyo.soon i hope!

Your fortune said you didn’t study enough? lol Good thing that you “left” your bad luck there! Hmm… if you waft the smoke at the shrine over your head then you won’t need to study too much (because it brings you intelligence) ^^

The glass part in the Tokyo Tower reminds me of the Canada Tower. I took a picture on it and totally like it. I’m not afraid of heights.
