Been Busy This Week

Tuesday night I went to see Conan’s The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour.

WAS AMAZING

I didn’t think it was possible for me to love Conan anymore. I WAS WRONG! I started watching Late Night with Conan O’Brien when I was around 13. This is when I “broke free” from my parents’ watching of The Late Show with David Letterman by finally possessing my own TV! WHOOT! Nothing beats Conan self-deprecating dry humor~~

I won’t spoil it for anyone still waiting for the show to pass through their town, but it was amazing! He did more than just play AWESOME music, but that’s the only time I remembered to snap photos! HAHAHAHA! My mouth hurt by the end of the night from laughing and smiling~ A good kind of hurt, harhaaar

Here’s a excerpt from the Team Coco blog about the DC Performance:

Washington D”C” you later! (Get it? GET IT?)
Our show in Washington DC is complete, and we had a super fun time - although I must say, this was one of our most “yelly” crowds to date! Everyone kept yelling stuff out the whole night! It wasn’t BAD necessarily (no one was belligerent or mean), but it was definitely noticeable. I guess the folks in DC are just used to having a vote and making themselves heard!

Oh harhar~ Taxation without representation jokes never get old! I remember when my friend visited and couldn’t believe that “Taxation without Representation” was actually on the DC license plates. *phuphuphu*

And it’s true, there were lots of things yelled with full audience reaction~ like “FUCK JAY LENO!!!!!”that’s how we role!

And of course I bought a shirt at the show! Went with a plain white TEAM COCO one~~

What I wore~ I came home from work & quickly cooked dinner & changed clothes then we left. So my hair & makeup are what I had for work that day since I only had time to quickly change clothes & eat before the show!

Random~
I was on the Prisilia site again tonight. I was really looking forward to visiting Navana wigs when in Tokyo but now I think Prisilia is my preferred because they are cheaper & seem to carry more wig parts (bangs, extensions, buns)… though their full wigs are lovely omfg the blonde one on this girl is SO cute! hahahahahaaa!

no wig no life

The thing about growing your hair out is all the possibilities you have when it comes to choosing your next “look!” Well, possibilities I have that involve the same thinness & texture of my hair that is! Hahahaa, and face shape too~~! I haven’t pinned any down yet. But on the weekends I’ve been parting my bangs and sorta channeling a Wei Son or Jun Komori look~ Wei Son had this look in July’s PopSister. I could see me liking it. And I like the look and ease of “casual spiral” style. Anyway~ thought I’d share…

I dunno why but I’m just all about the middle-part long & blunt cut look lately~ feel so hippie-ish to me and I like it, hahahaaa

That’s all~~ I’ve been so busy lately. I don’t have too much planned for the weekend though and I’m actually relieved. I’d really like to get back to blogging more than twice a week and making more dedicated blog rounds! I miss catching up on you guys D: D:

I wanted to go but it was all sold out in my area! I totally missed out! Loved your outfit that day by the way!

Growing out bangs is so tough but I think you’ll look great with the new hair.

jenny said

It’s from h&m! But I didn’t wear this to work, I changed into it after. I couldn’t imagine showing so much cleavage at my office! haahaa~

Your outfit for the show is awesome. Probably my favorite since it involves a blazer Glad you had a good time~

I’ve had long hair for the longest time and I never had bangs ever since I was a kid! I wish I could get bangs again but every time I go to the hair salon and ask them to cut me bangs, they give me THICK and straight cut bangs that I do not want! :_: That’s why, I’ve been comtemplating of getting hair wigs in the future with the perfect type of bangs that I want!

I feel for ya. I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum. I always go wanting thick blunt bangs but my hair’s too thin so I want thick faux bangs!! And thankfully both exist XD for both our needs!!

My bangs are at that awkward stage where it just gets in my way so I just clip them back for now~ I think I look weird with the middle part because I’m just not .. used to seeing my big forehead hahahaha :’D

Glad you had a blast at the show!!

jenny said
June 11, 2010 @ 5:13 pm

Yea seeing my forehead again is a bit traumatic hahahaa! Sometimes I think it’s ok then I’ll catch a glimpse and be like “OH GOD WHY WOULD I DO THIS!?” ha!

Navana are so eye wateringly expensive that I don’t see any reason to buy from there unless you are bald. Of course I support Cyperous because they are the smex but considered Prisila when I didn’t want to go all the way to Kanda…
You will go to whichever shop, try on the wigs, see your real hair again and wonder how you ever coped with the thin mess on your head LOL!

June 11, 2010 @ 5:17 pm

LOL at the real hair thing. It’s SO true. I feel that way with my current wig (I want a bob one next, maybe even 2-tone!)

June 11, 2010 @ 1:22 am

wow, i liked the girl with the brown coloured wig! I must really get myself one. Btw, abt the girls ameblo u recomended, do you needa converse w her in japanese??

We missed you too, Jenny!! ❤
Glad you did something fun though! The show looks like it was amazing & those are some great photos you took
The print dress + belt looks gorgeous on you ❤ & I think Wei Son’s hairstyle will look great on you! It almost looks like how your hair was when I first came across your blog in late 2008, super long with the soft curls but sans the bangs of course XD

I’m glad to hear the Conan show was fabulous, although I don’t think it could be anything less haha. I like the shirt you chose, it looks like it will be very wearable and easy to coordinate.

And Wow! to your outfit. I’m not going to say anything about your décollète, because I don’t want to sound creepy, but I totally could. That dress is super pretty and stylish! You look beautiful!!

I guess I am lucky my goal hair style goal is just “longer” but someday I might want an actual style haha.I like how your hair is looking, I hope you can achieve your style goal! Prisila wig are very cute indeed, I wish I could find pieces that would match my hair.

jenny said
June 11, 2010 @ 5:08 pm

LOL all I have to say is thank god for double-sided tape!! Thank you! The best part of the dress was the fact it’s like a 17$ one from h&m XDDv, not too shabby!

Yea, I refuse to buy separate wig pieces online even if it looks like it’ll sorta match. I want to check in person first b/c I have my fears it won’t match my color well.

I love Prisila wigs; they’re high quality without being too pricey. I’m only annoyed that they don’t have a broader color range.

COCO! COCO! COCO!!!

I STILL can’t believe what happened to Conan with NBC. He got blind-sided by that whole ordeal, but I’m glad he’s out of there. He’s doing a great thing and I’m sure he’ll be great with TBS!

love your blog as always! (I made a new one, so check it out sometime)

Yaaaaaaaaah COCO we have to talk about that soon!

I’ve never worn a wig- it would be cool
to go lighter or even deep black! My hair is so thick, prob have
to straighten beforehand maybe??

jenny said
June 13, 2010 @ 1:41 pm

Nah, just bundle it up into the wig cap!!! No straightening required.

Hahaha, seriously.. I feel like my hair would never grow! I have been doing alot of chemical works on my hair, dyeing, perming etc and now my hair’s texture is like… a broom. I ordered a long clip on extension too! Just because my hair won’t grow so I am trying that out. btw, Have u tried clip on extensions before??

Not yet! I’m waiting until I get to Tokyo before I break down & buy some state-side Though I did technically have some in Jr. High but they were colors like purple

I know I keep asking you questions on posts that are not related to what I’m asking… so sorry about that!

What is your all-time favorite japanese fashion magazine in which you get the most inspiration/easiest chance at “mimicking” the styles in the magazine?

I’m wondering cause I never ever order fashion magazines, but i’ve become so enthralled with them lately, and i just wanted to subscribe to *one* magazine.

any you recommend?

jenny said
June 13, 2010 @ 1:44 pm

Right now I adore PopSister, but it really depends on your own personal style. Before PopSister, Pinky was my go-to favorite style magazine but it’s out of print. I’d recommend going to the livejournal community jmagazinescans and downloading various ones and seeing which you find most appealing~
