Bison Rose Honey Lip Cream

Friday January 27, 2012

Something new I picked up combines my love for the company “Bison” and my love for all things rose. :deco1: Bison’s Rose Honey Lip Cream. It’s a part of their はんなり小町 [Elegant Beauty] lip line. It’s a clear light pink cream stick containing rose extract, honey, and royal jelly extract plus moisturizing vitamins C, E, and A. It’s rose scented and meant to create lips with “elegant shine.”

Though it’s a clear stick I think it adds a tiny subtle hint of pink when applied. The shine is perfect too. Not overly super glossy like a sticky gloss but not a dull matte shine like a chapstick. :deco10: The fragrance is subtle. :deco1: It reminds me a lot of the fragrance of my Chanel lipstick actually. It’s a slightly perfumed rose but also a little sweet smelling with a slightly sweet, but very subtle, taste. If you’ve ever drank pure rose flavored black tea this will probably remind you of that! The only sort of complaint I’d have is that it needs reapplying often. It wears away quickly but it does leave lips feeling super soft and moisturized. I think it’s a great “chapstick” replacement. It’s not fancy but it’s useful and let’s you enjoy a burst of fragrance.

This line has 5 items in total. The Rose Honey, Peach Honey, Citrus Honey, and Strawberry Honey. There’s also a deep conditioning cream in Apple Honey. I got mine at Yesstyle where they have quite a few from this line. I also so it at my local Japanese market a few weeks ago as well. Seems fairly popular. There are reviews on most of the items at cosme.net

    Hello jenny!
I’ve been reading for awhile(and combing your archrives :-p)
and I have to say that i love your blog! Being from a country with no 4 seasons, it is interesting to see your style changes and activities change through the seasons. :-)

Not to mention that I adore your product reviews and fashion mentions, as I love Japanese culture too! You are also really pretty and the makeup you wear all look superb on you!

Recently, I bought the Burt’s bee eye cream and shampoo and they indeed did not disappoint. I love how I smell after using them! :-)

I’ll keep reading from now on!

Hello dear!!! Thank you so much for such kind words about my blog, I’m really happy you enjoy it at all!! Thank you thank you :D

Ah yeah, I used to live in a place that was always warm too. I only had 1 set of type of clothes you know lol. So getting to change with seasons is still wonderful for me! And yeah I’m noticing too that in spring and summer I’m more casual in style but autumn and winter I like dressing more conservative and classic. I hope I can continue to write more that you enjoy :) take care!!!

Hm…I might have to try this! The current lip I’m using is Dior Addict Lip Glow and it’s $29 per tube xD! I go through them pretty fast. How subtle is this pink tint? I’d like it to have the same result as the Dior one, and I probably will add it to my yesstyle purchase if it can. ^^

    • jenny says:

The pink tint is extremely subtle, almost non existent but does brighten my lip color just a bit. So it depends on how subtle you’re looking for.

    Ahhhhhhh…they sound delicious….

  8. Michelle says:

Man, not only do they look like they’d be amazing on the lips, but they would also “taste” good too. I have this tendency to lick/eat off my lip balm -_-

    • jenny says:

Haha well this one isn’t like yummy yummy but it’s niiiiiiiiiiice. It’s like elegant nice tasting (flowers xD) but I bet their other flavors are yummy yummy tasting :D

  9. Jade Love says:

I cannot live without lip balms, my lips get dry too easily.
Thank you for post this, I want to try it now :)

  10. Bianca says:

A rose by any other name would be called Jenny…;)

.. this stuff kinda reminds me of baby lips

    • jenny says:

Ha! The Jenny rose (goes to google to see if exists)

Yeah it’s a bit like Baby Lips in texture though the color is more subtle and less flavor but more scent.

  11. Alice says:

I would love one of these in my bag…

But unfortunately I’m one of those people that loses chapstick/lip balm/etc. frequently, often before I even reach the end of it. *_* So I normally spring for cheap ones.

It looks so pretty though :3 I’m attracted to the shine and tint it promises.

  12. mishi says:

Me wants too! It’s worth it just for the dang packaging *_* They all sounds nice, I might pick one up if I see it around.

  13. _lyne says:

these remind me of the gloss bars by Etude house and Tony Moly (korean brands)…they give some color while keeping your lips moisturized. you should try them out too if you can find them…i always keep one in my purse!

  14. Leslie says:

Wow I love the packaging! Such a pretty lip balm.

  15. Miho-chan says:

Kyaaa~ Lip Cream!! I am such a Lip cream addict *3* I am collecting all kind of \”Labello\”, \”Nivea\” and other extraordinary Lip creams >

  16. bloomzy says:

Oh this looks lovely. I have so many rose beauty items right now. We should team up, it would be magnificent haha

    • jenny says:

Don’t you have the Kath Kidston one!? I was almost gonna order a bunch online for xmas but stopped myself. Wish I could find them in stores, less buyers remorse when there’s no shipping fee!

  17. Tiff says:

I absolutely love Bison lipbalms! I loved the Strawberry Honey one in both stick and squeezy form. They looked pretty on the lips and weren’t sticky. My only complaint was the squeezy one was a bit on the runny side so it was too easy to squeeze out too much. And also, they smelled too good so I always looked like a freak smelling my lipbalms XD!

    • Tiff says:

Oops sorry, I just realised the squeezy one is the Apple Honey one – I just remember confusing it with Strawberry because it really smells more like Strawberry than Apple… so delicious.

  18. Jessica says:

This is such a cute lip cream!! I love the packaging. Thanks for the review!

  19. anastasia says:

I’m a sucker for rose, too. The packaging is so amazzzinnngg!!

  21. Emy says:

Ah it’s so cute and yet the names/colors make me hungry! They sell this at my work I should give it a try! :) xx

  22. chocoNIKKI says:

Oh my this looks awesome~! Recently (because of the cold/dry winter weather) I’ve been using chapstick more and more often instead of lipgloss.. This looks like an upgraded/inbetween version~ And the packaging is so cute~~ Looks almost traditional? Like Japanese lacquer-ware~ =D

  23. Courtney says:

Sounds nice! :) I like having the subtle scent on your lip balm~

  24. MissFeelo says:

I always end up buying so many chapsticks because I loose them all the time! >

  25. Tori says:
