Missha Milky Beige

Wednesday March 21, 2012

Just the other night I went ahead and ordered -
M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++ in No. 13 Milky Beige

It arrived quickly!
I usually use Perfect Cover in No.21 Light Beige during the summer then switch to Missha M Vita for a lighter shade in winter. But I’m paler than previous winters and I wasn’t getting a perfect color match anymore.

So I’m trying Milky Beige now. I sampled it earlier tonight and it looked great even under natural lighting! As summer approaches I can mix it with No. 21 to darken it up a little. I trust Missha because it doesn’t break me out.

What I wore at work today. I scheduled an appointment with my hair stylist today. It’ll be in a few weeks. My hair is actually pretty damaged from stripping my hair color from October out with Johnson’s & Johnson’s baby shampoo. It did work really well! And I read it could dry out your hair badly so I wasn’t surprised at the toll it took. Now I have breaks, split-ends, and flyaways. The cut will help a lot.

I ordered Kao’s Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Intensive Hair Mask and it should arrive this week! I hope it helps some. Leave-in conditioner weighs my hair down so much that I’ve been avoiding it. I’m hoping the “mask” treatment option will work just as well but without the extra weight.

Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Intensive Hair Mask

Intensive care for severely damaged hair, without the heaviness. Enriched with 3x more High Purity Honey and Milk Protein to protect and strengthen. Shea Butter repairs and moisturizes.

Gives limp and flat hair a light and bouncy feel.

Wow, that is extremely fast shipping. Always a plus there! I didn’t even know they came out with a wider range of color.

And I’m definitely excited to hear your review on the Essential Hair Treatment Mask since I’ve heard so many Asian bloggers RAVE about.

    • jenny says:

Seriously I was shocked to see it in my mailbox already!

Yea this kao line seems huge in Singapore I’m really excited to give it a try!

  2. jiaying says:

I love Kao Essential’s stuff! :-) A great instant boost for me, hope it works for you as well~

    • jenny says:

This is great to hear! I wonder if it’s ok to use on soft perm hair though. I’ll be getting a body perm next month :P

      • jiaying says:

it’s marketed to be used for hair suffering from frizziness, split ends and tangles from chemical treatments and daily styling and they kept emphasizing that their products focus on repairing and strengthing the last 15cm of hair to fight damage~ (oh dear, their tagline has been drilled into my head @_@;;)

really hope it works for you though! :-) can’t wait to hear your take on it~

  3. mishi says:

Do people at your job regularly comment on your outfits? They are so simple yet perfect.

Looking forward to hearing about the hair mask.

    • jenny says:

Some regularly do while others just throw out random things like “bright tights!” lol I got a compliment on this skirt yesterday from a coworker who always has something nice to say~~

  4. Jessica says:

I can\’t stand it when my hair is dry >

    • jenny says:

Yeah that’s the main reason I cut off more than 6″ back in 08! Crispy crispy. It wasn’t worth it anymore to have it so long.

  5. Chloe says:

    Hi jenny~
i’ve never tried BB cream but i’ve been meaning to buy some ~_~! Hmm, are you pale? I can never find the right shade for me because i’m soo pale and I break out easily…. do you know the lightest shade for BB cream in that range? currently at school so I can’t access the sites q-q

    • jenny says:

I’m not pale… I’m translucent!!! Hahaha! For this series of Missha Perfect cover Milky Beige #13 is the lightest shade available.

  6. Lokkita says:

You’re so lucky that your skin matches a bb cream color! I love the perfect coverage of my Missha bb cream, but it’s too pale for my skin, even in the winter. I’d love for them to come out with a wider range of darker shades!

  7. Julie says:

I really like your skirt. Do you mind me asking where you got it from? On another note, I use Missha BB Cream too. Love the coverage but I use 23 (tho it’s a bit paler than I am keke)

  8. Sarah says:

I LOVE the entire essential hair care line. I picked up a travel size while in Tokyo and I was amazed ! My hair was soft, manageable, and it smelled amazing. I love the hair masque and I use it every other week. The only other product that I feel comes even close to giving me that kind of manageability is Kerastase for fine hair. I hope you have the same results!

    • jenny says:

Oh I’ve seen that Kerastase brand around. There are travel sizes of the hair mask?! Fantastic to know!!! I’ll be in Japan soon and will keep my eye out. I’d like to try the other version too.

  9. Honeydew says:

Oh, I actually have the Nuance Airy Intensive Hair Mask from Essential but I don’t think that it works that well for my hair. That’s because it’s meant to give your hair a more “airy” and “bouncy” look and I want a more volume look as my hair is actually quite thin. So I actually recently just bought the Ultre Honey (orange version) of the mask and I like that one better. I’m also currently using Essential’s rinch premier shampoo, conditioner, and hair treatment. I really like Essentials, it makes me my feel very silky and smooth when I use it. I, too, have the same problem with having dried hair as I colour my hair almost every 2-3 months, it’s extremely damaged. I have split ends, breaks and flyaways too. I’ve been trying to take more care of my hair recently by going the salon for more regular trimming and oil hair treatment to heal my extremely dry and damaged hair, lol.

    • jenny says:

Same. After my upcoming cut plus body perm (haven’t had one in a year and it only lasts 3 months) I’ll either color it to match my natural color better (1 final coloring) or the grow out might still not look so obvious so I won’t have to color it and I can just let my hair “be” for a while.

  10. Kim-Mari says:

OK, haven’t tried Missha yet, but we actually have a Missha distributor here in Auckland, so I think I’ll try it next after my Sasatinnie runs out!

BUT… HOLY FRICK this was the first I heard that J&J BS could strip out color~! I usually love my Bitter Cappucino brown color but have thinking about lightening to go rich red for a gypsy style winter look,….

How fast does it strip out of curiosity??? I mean I could prolly only endure 4 weeks of dry bits… !

    • jenny says:

I used mine along side an extreme moisturizing Shiseido hair mask which I felt helped keep it from drying out. Did still break easily though. Anyway I used like half a bottle of the large size. I did it once a week then twice a week. My color came out easily at first. Now it’s almost back to my natural color except my highlights are just a touch different compared to the regrowth. I haven’t used it in like 2 weeks.

  11. Jenna says:

I use the same foundation! ^^ I love the great deals they offer on their website~

    • jenny says:

Yeah I wish I had thought about it during a sale. I know missha doesn’t break me out so I should have tried a lighter shade than trying sooner to find a US brand replacement lol.

  12. mei says:

    cute work outfit :D

  13. Denny says:

Awww, I dislike my hair right now because of the split ends and I have to cut it so bad! But I also don’t want to lose the length :(

    • jenny says:

Yeah that’s hard. When my hair was REALLY long I’d cover it in leave-in conditioner because I refused to cut off my damaged ends.

  14. isabellmiao says:

Got to say you made the right choice because I bleached my hair 3 times, dyed it twice and my hair is still looking okay after I used essential hair mask. I’m seriously surprised with this. :D

    • jenny says:

Whoa!! This is good to hear!!!! I just want my hair to stop breaking and smooth the flyaways without the weight of having to wear a product every day.

  15. Sidney says:

PS, let me know of some Korean beauty things you wanna try. Want to send out “care packages” to my fav. people!!! That BBcream alone is 1/2 the price here!! So if you want an extra tube or ANYTHING…you know…nudge nudge.

    • jenny says:

Dangerous proposition because I think brands like holika holika, étude house, and skin food are incredibly awesome looking!!!! xD

  16. Jenii says:

Ooh I have samples of Missha Perfect Cover – haven’t tried them yet. So far, I’m liking Skin79’s Gold VIP Super Whateverthename :)? Though…it leaves a white cast…so I’m looking for something with either a yellow base or…no cast.

I’m not sure if it’s something you’d be interested in but I have recommended Joico’s K-Pak to people with damaged hair in the past. It’s a once-a-week hair pack that you apply after you wash your hair & towel dry it. Wrap it up in a hot towel and leave it on for anywhere between 15-30 minutes. Then once your hair starts feeling and looking better, you ease off of it since it really is a heavy-duty treatment.

There is also a leave-in product called ‘It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-in’ which is a leave-in conditioner, thermal protector, etc. all rolled into one. You basically spritz 1-2 times and comb it through damp hair and blow dry. It’s crazy but it does work?? I’m usually really skeptical about product claims (haha they always claim sooooo much).

    • jenny says:

I’ll have to keep these in mind! I’ll need something for a few months after my perm is gone :D That 10-min miracle thing sounds really awesome bc it could replace a few of my other products xD

  17. Kei says:

    Adorable coord!

  18. Margo says:

So far I’ve never been able to find a BB cream that’s light enough for me skin. Maybe I’ll give this one a try!

  19. Tomoko says:

I also got the No. 21 missha bb cream too these days ! it works really well on my skin ! :D
how long does it last for this one bottle ? maybe I can use it for a quite long ? :D

  20. Etienne says:

Jenny, why do you use the Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo for? Here we use for oily hair, is that true that helps “cleaning” the colored hair?

    • jenny says:

I’m not sure why but yeah, it’s known to strip out hair color/fade hair color. I found out online and having used it I would definitely say it helps fade/strip color at least a little more than usual shampoo!

  21. Kate says:

I wear the Missha Perfect Cover no.13 too! I’m a very pale redhead, so there was no way any of the other colours would have matched me. It’s lucky Missha makes a very light bb cream. Many other bb cream companies don’t make such a light shade as their no.13!

  22. Tori says:

That hair mask sounds lovely. I’ve been using the new Suave Keratin Infusion shampoo + conditioner which does a great job of smoothing & hydrating while not weighing hair down… It also has lower sulfates in the shampoo, which I’m sure you know are pretty bad for hair. You should give it a try after your cut! ♥

  23. _lyne says:

i bought the missha perfect cover when i was in korea last year but haven’t got around to trying it. your post reminds me that i need to give it some love! heh…i am using the Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Intensive Hair Mask right now, but I do think that if you have really damaged hair, the rich Premier Intensive Hair Mask might be better hmmm.

  24. Mary says:

I tried using BB Cream, but it didn’t give me a nice smooth finish. It kind of started cracking o_O

    • jenny says:

Hmmm, well not all bb cream is created equal. Some are thicker or creamier than others. This particular Missha Perfect cover is almost like a liquid foundation while their M Vita is a thick balmy cream. Also skin type is extremely important. It sounds like you might have normal to dry skin? I’d try for a more liquidy formula of BB Cream. If you already have then maybe it’s not really a good solution for you and hopefully you can find a foundation or powder to love! Good luck!

  25. Nicole says:

I use no 13 in the M, too! I rarely see sunlight anymore thanks to school and then my 12-hour work days, and now most foundations are too dark for me. *le sigh*

  26. M says:

i really want to try some bb cream but there are so many brands out there @_@ overwhelming~~~

  27. Courtney says:

Really lovely work cord!! I just bought a bunch of long length, top layer sheer skirts and i love them to pieces! :D
