Higashi Fushimi Inari Shrine

Wednesday, May. 16, 2012 | 17 Comments

A smaller, local shrine, the overcast skies that day only made the red gates more striking.

Higashi Fushimi Inari Shrine

“This is a shrine that received part of the holy spirit from Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto in 1929 as a shrine governing Fushimi Inari shrines in the eastern part of Japan. While the enshrined god is originally a god of agriculture, it is believed to possess miraculous power for art, a happy family, longevity, and business success.

A 10-minutes walk from Higashi-Fushimi Station on the Shinjuku Line.”

I remember being there a couple years ago when I visited Japan. I wish I can visit again soon . And the colors are so vibrant in the pictures! It was a bit on the dull side when I was there because of the bright sunlight :/

Holy, did you walk the whole thing? I did it a couple years ago, and it was beautiful, but my legs were so sore the next day! So many stairs!

Oh wow! It’s so red!|
What did you think of the state the temples you saw were in? I heard a lot of them are having financial problems and can’t be taken care of very well.

I don’t really think I’m an appropriate person to ask for this, just because I’m not Japanese nor have I lived there and I can’t really compare it to anything, etc. etc. Sorry
