Coffret D’or Beauty Sharp Designer
Friday November 16, 2012
Yesterday I received the Coffret D’or Beauty Sharp Designer palette courtesy of Yesstyle. It includes blending blush colors and 3 contouring shades. It arrives with a nice compact to slip the palette into as well. The compact’s design is very sleek with a fish scale-like design on top.
The palette is beautiful.
It’s more on the sheer side overall.
Though the color is easily build-able, this palette is great for daytime makeup
(office environment, etc.)
This shade is 02 (pure pink) and includes a shimmery purple shaded highlight color mix. Purple highlight is my favorite because it blends well with my extra fair complexion. The rest of the cheek colors are more matte and it’s easy to blend the shade however you like. The included brush is decent. I like its performance more than my other Coffret D’or blush’s included brush. But overall I think this palette works better with larger brush sets. I almost always use my own brushes anyway.
I mainly wanted to try contour colors. I was using the Paul & Joe pressed powder as my contour until I ran out. The Coffret D’or 3 contour shades are a bit more subtle than I had expected. The two darker shades add a light contouring effect but I found I had to be a bit heavy-handed with it. The highlight is really great. Subtle but not too subtle. As winter continues I’ll only get more pale so I feel safe using this throughout the winter months. Come summer though it might be a little too sheer. We’ll see :)
Overall I really like this palette … A LOT. My other Coffret D’or blush is so pigmented and super shimmery that I hardly wear it. This palette is much more wearable for me at the office day in & day out.
