Sweet x ACUVUE Define Lenses
Saturday, Jul. 30, 2011 | 32 Comments
In this month’s Sweet I noticed there was an advertisement x tutorial (I guess advertorial? I dunno what to call these,)
where they mashed up promos for Acuvue’s “Define” 1-Day contacts with natural makeup tutorials because these are Acuvue’s subtle version of circle lenses.
I REALLY want these lenses. The Natural Shine ones are so prettttttttty
Because they’re Acuvue I feel there’s a glimmer of hope they’ll eventually be made available to the US market. They even go as high as -9.00 so I’d be able to get my prescription strength
So far I can’t find them though. Only on international circle lens sites or sorta sketchy looking medical sites.
It would be amazing to have them sold legitimately in the US because then I could use my insurance to basically buy super duper comfortable circle lenses!!
So far though all I can find is an old announcement on the official Johnson & Johnson site stating they were made for China(?)
But obviously they’ve expanded on that and seem to be sold throughout Asia now.
I already use Acuvue lenses as my daily wear lenses
Anywho, here’s the official Japanese promo site. And now for the Sweet scans

This past week I received a package from Shoppingholics.com. It included a pair of Barbie Eye Princess Lace Chocolate lenses that they wanted me to try plus some Diamond Lash ‘French Eyes’ lashes that I’ve been wanting to try! So here are the lenses + the upper lashes
!
Barbie Eye Princess Lace Chocolate
Brand: Barbie Eye
Diameter: 17.5mm
Water Content: 42%
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Life Span: 1 year disposal
The Princess Lace lenses feature an intricate lace pattern in dark chocolate brown. They’re 17.5 mm so the enlarging effect really pops. The comfort level is OK. They get a little dry after a few hours so some refreshing eye drops are needed during wear. These aren’t something I’d usually choose, but they did intrigue me.
I was curious to see how the lace pattern would look on my natural eye color. So these are definitely a more fun style for me to play with!

They arrived in a lens Teddy Bear that encases the bottles inside and is actually a lens case in his ears! Haahaa! TOTALLY UNEXPECTED. I’ve never seen anything like this. Probably the strangest thing I’ve seen in a while! haha~
It’s cute and if you had a favorite pair or just one pair of lenses it would be fun to store them in this. I have so many lenses that I prefer the typical cases for storage
