Majolica Majorca Glass Drop

Remember that Majolica Majorca Glass Drop Gel Coat I got from Yesstyle? Well it’s been my favorite top coat for weeks now.

It’s a quick drying shiny top coat that mimics the look of gel nails. When it’s freshly applied it does look quite glassy and gel-like!
It’s dry to the touch within moments which I love. Quick drying is a must for me. It’s a pretty durable top coat as well. Takes quite a few days before I notice any chipping. Honestly I haven’t noticed much because I end up repainting my nails before it even begins to chip.
One thing I will note is that the top coat does become dull about 3 days later from scuffing. So while it still looks great, it’s not as shiny and gel-like after a few days of wear.
etc.
I recently went through my makeup and cleared out some older items or items I wasn’t really using any longer. It’s also a cathartic experience. I actually meant to clear through my nail polishes first but tackled the more challenging makeup instead. It feels great to walk past my makeup bag and see everything organized again. The rest is in my travel makeup bag that I take with me daily.

Lastly I got these Godiva biscuits for Valentine’s Day along with a box of Godiva chocolates. Honestly I’m in love with these biscuits!! It’s the first time I’ve gotten to try them and I’m loving the break from their usual truffles, etc. Maybe biscuits aren’t as “gift-worthy” as a box of chocolates but I’m so happy I received these. Especially wonderful with a cup of tea.

PAUL & JOE “Meow” Collection
Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 | 64 Comments

The Paul & Joe Spring 2012 Collection was something I got excited about, though I didn’t expect to actually purchase anything from it. But after seeing the powder crop up in the recent issue of Sweet used on a Rinka-inspired makeup tutorial I was sold. My soul is weak, what can I say.
Everything in the entire collection looked amazing anyway! Decided the two things I’d enjoy most would be the pressed powder and an eyeshadow palette.
I wish there were more reviews of the line out but it just went up for sale on Feb 1st.
Matte Pressed Powder in “Cinnamon”

I’ll just bullet my main thoughts about it~
Lovely
- fantastic finishing powder with a great matte look
- looks fresh all day, no creasing, no chalky “Oh look I’m totally wearing powder” look
- minimized the appearance of my pores (shiny powder sometimes makes them more obvious)
- sheer enough to wear over heavy bbcream with no caking or creasing
- coverage enough to wear with just concealer
- the shades lightly blended together give a nice warm look and is still light enough in color for all over wear
- smells AMAZING
- still looks fresh after touch up too! No caking still

- easy to open compact that’s also lightweight despite its size
Not-so-lovely
- too sheer to be stand alone base makeup unless you have flawless skin (good for you then lol)
- contour color a bit dark on my super fair winter skin but it will match better come summer
- puff is cute but a bit useless for blending. I like it for application under my eyes, but for overall face a full brush is needed (which I always use anyway)
- a bit difficult to grab at just the light shade without using a mini kabuki brush or being extra careful with the puff

What I like best is its staying power! It really did keep away the shine and looked nearly as fresh 12 hours later as it did when I applied it. Yes, 12 hours!
After I got rained & snowed on too. I kept looking in the mirror like “does my skin really look this fresh still!?”
It applies well over heavy-handed concealer (dark undereye circles lately, lol) plus the scent is wonderful. I must admit I was half hoping this powder would become a holy grail item for me but rather it’s just become a great addition to my makeup collection; rounding it out nicely. Now to wear it another week longer and if it hasn’t caused a breakout by then, I’m good to go!
Really the more I use it the more I’m loving it.
Face & Eye Colors in “Siamese Please”

LOVE IT.
I got the Siamese Please which is a trio of beige and browns.
The center pinkish beige is a semi-sheer matte shade while the surrounding chocolate brown is a shimmer and the dark brown (with a hint of mauve) is more of a glitter shade. Fantastic quality shadows. The color lasts all day, rich pigment and, better yet, they’re extremely build-able and blend-able.
The darkest shade does have a little fallout with the silver glitter but not enough to be an issue.
I couldn’t be any happier with it! Plus it too has a light candy-like floral scent! The packaging is beautiful like elegant wrapping paper. But the box is cardboard
and held closed by an included strap. While the idea is kitsch and cute, I wonder about how secure it really is since I mostly do my makeup on the go. It is however still quite sturdy.

I’ll try to take a snap of it on this weekend. Not owning a ring light and the sun being down by the time I get home, it’s easier for me to just wait until a sunny weekend day
