New Car!

I’ve never had a brand new car before in my entire life! Not even when living with my parents growing up! 
BACKSTORY:
Currently Mike and I share 1 car. I traded mine in over a year ago for a scooter. We love just having 1 car & the scooter because if I need the car Mike works close enough to use the scooter. Anyway.
Mike’s car was 7 years old. He bought it back in 2002 for college. So, really, it was his car. Though we shared it now, to me, it always felt like his and I hated how it drove. It was a Kia Sportage. Totally worn and stained and falling apart. He was an art major so the seats were torn and stained with paint and ink and just BLAH! The warranty was up 2 years ago and since then it just sucks money from us constantly with needing nonstop maintenance. We’ve been NEEDING to get a new car. So when we realized our car qualified for the Car Allowance Rebate System we decided this was the best time for us to buy. We qualified for the full $4,500 credit!! Because the little jeep-like sportage got HORRIBLE gas mileage. Basically this bill allows someone with a very NON-eco friendly car to get up to $4,500 towards a new, better fuel economy car instantly. We didn’t want to spend much because car status isn’t important to either of us 
So we went for the 2009 Hyundia Accent in the end! We looked at so many different cars this weekend but we just kept coming back to it because of price AND ratings. We both liked the sportage for lugging stuff around, so we wanted a hatchback still and FUCK YEA yellow!! HAHAHAHHAAA! We were both in love with this “mellow yellow” color! It was also cheaper, hahahahaaa. Cars are so freakin’ boring here!! DC is so black and gray. Dear God. When I was testing driving it this woman screamed “CUTE CAR!!” at me and waved, LOL.
We got a REALLY good deal on it too!! Our car payments are so low, lower than our phone or cable bill, haahaa. Plus I played the role of the bitchy wife who wouldn’t stop saying, “I don’t see what’s wrong with our old car!?” And the guy got really nervous about making the sale & kept lowering the price 
This is our first car TOGETHER~~ It’s kinda funny though. He/we had the other car for so long…. I have weird separation anxiety knowing I’ll never see it again! I hated the damn thing though. Everytime we got extra money like a bonus or taxes the stupid piece of shit would break and we’d have to shell out $300+ to fix it!! 
So yea~ that’s done. We thought we were gonna have to buy a used car to replace ours but the timing was just right for us! Plus now we’ll cut our gas price in half! :glitz:

OMG that happens at my house too. when we get extra money the car breaks. It’s like it knows and doesn’t want you to have extra money! D: I think technology really is alive and conscious half the time… It always knows. o.O

Yes it is the Rodeo Crowns bag!! I saw it in my closet & was just like WOW THIS IS SUMMER PERFECT! So I finally switched out of a Cher bag for now, haahaa!

Congrats on the new car. I’ve had a new car once in my life. My bf at the time bought it for me and then when we broke up he took it back. It was a 2008 buggy. Now my mom just moved to Sweden and she’s letting me use her car and it’s a 2003 and within 2 weeks of having it the check engine light is on. I’m not pleased at all.

This is so weird (again! lol!) that your on about getting a new car cos ours has gone in for it’s MOT today and if it costs too much we’re going to get a new one. We’re hoping not cos this bitch has zapped so much of our money in the past year but if it’s going to be too much again then we’re gonna go cut our loses and go for something new. I love the one you chose

Andy and I are sharing a car as well - for a long time I was obsessed with Japan’s Honda S-Cubs and Tomo scooters!!
I feel the same way sharing HIS car - it’s so much longer than my old tiny Mazda so I’m nervous driving it X/

I got a 2009 automatic. The 9K one is sans AC/radio, power locks, power windows, and so on & usually a manual drive. Just FYI!
Oh ahaha, missed that all the basics were missing. This is why I won’t be allowed to buy my car when I get one
