Got The Pumpkin For Halloween

Oct 24, 2010

Went to the Pumpkin Patch to get this year’s pumpkin. :ureshii: It’s the same orchard that I go to for summer flowers. They have multiple pumpkin patches and we go just about every year except last year since we were away that H’ween. We got there around 9:30am and had the whole place to ourselves basically until 10am. Then people started FLOODING in! :orooro:

Usually we get two pumpkins, one each. But I don’t really feel :;_;: like doing two this year :snot: We haven’t even put up the Halloween decorations yet! :;_;: running behind~~ :?: I guess since we’ll be home I’ll need to buy some candy to pass out. The kids in my neighborhood are really… greedy :ashock: They come around multiple times most not even wearing costumes… :x :madmark::madmark::madmark: So I’m thinking of passing out HEALTHY SNACKS like pretzels! LOL :good: :cfaha2:

I know, I’m rotten like this pumpkin!!

These white ones were quite wart-filled :dizzy:

Later on we went for lunch. :wakuwakuheart:
We were going to actually go out for breakfast but we got Starbuck’s on the way to the farm (omg, that sounded pathetically “city” didn’t it :toto: ) so instead we did some grocery shopping after pumpkin picking. :twinkle: So on the way home we stopped by this fantastic Italian Deli. They have amazing sandwiches and their deli items are phenomenal. :celebrate: I’m serious this place tastes just like what my Italian-born grandfather cooks!!! :good: I picked up some eggplant parm, grilled veggies, and cucumber salad. :ohyeslovely:

Sunday’s outfit~ Kinda hard to see the ruffles, black is so hard to take a snap of :facepalmcry:

:doubleheartbeat: Military Ruffle Dress: Yesstyle (from Zoo)
:doubleheartbeat: Faux Fur Coat: Forever 21
:doubleheartbeat: Ribbed Knit Leggings: Forever 21
:doubleheartbeat: Black Boots: Yesstyle (Holly Shoes)

This is a better look at the dress. It’s shorter than things I usually wear so I’ve been waiting until winter to wear it so I can pair it with black leggings.:wakuwakuheart:

In other news Rinka’s on the latest issue of PopSister!
I’m impatiently waiting for it to arrive~~~!!

It just felt so good to see her on the cover. :fleetheart: I personally feel like it says a lot about where they want to take the magazine. And also gives me a sense that this magazine really does fit into my current lifestyle (I guess you could say.) And as each issue comes out I’m seeing less and less of the styles I like in Popteen. It really does feel like they’re moving the majority or any sorta “street” looks to PopSister. Which makes sense, naturally! :upheart: I’m actually planning on ending my Popteen subscription soon. I just haven’t gotten around to it :;_;: plus I was thinking of replacing it, instead, with SCawaii. :doubledquestion: But I’d also like to get a Used Mix magazine but I’d have to request that specially and it could be difficult. :ng: Anyway… I should talk more about magazines but I’m going to go help Mike with dinner! :ohwhoa:

I am SO in love with your leopard print jacket! You look amazing in the pumpkin patch ^_^

  2. Zoraida says:

PUMPKINS! The east coast definitely looks better around Autumn compared to the West. Look at those trees!

    Love your outfit!

  3. Tori says:

So adorable as usual, Jenny! ♥ I had been eyeing that dress on YS a few months ago but wasn’t too sure about it… You make it look lovely though~! I love that photo of you walking through the pumpkin patch too.
I’m equally excited about Rinka being on PopSister’s cover, haha! ♥ & I think you said it perfectly~ I feel like the magazine is taking a lot more mature turn to compete with ViVi & even JELLY & it’s so refreshing, especially since it’s supposed to cater to the ‘older’ audience.

    • jenny says:

*nods vivaciously* Yes, yes, it seems with each issue they’re trying to catch up to the older 20’smtg crowd instead & slowly stepping out of the shadows of Popteen!! And so many new, young girls added to Popteen in recent months too!

  4. monicalee says:

It feels so great to see you update frequently, lol.
Love the leopard jacket. It just looks so good on you! I think leopard doesn’t look good on everyone actually. It’s hard to coordinate it with stuff.
I also love the new cover of PopSis. Love the pink tone and Rinka just looks so adorable on this pic!!! I can see how you mean by the gradual shift of style on each issue, which is something I really like to see. PopTeen is a little too out there for me personally, ahaha.

    • jenny says:

Haahaa thanks! The little corner calendar is keeping me motivated! Love seeing it fill up with urls on the dates :D Yea, total agreement on PopSister :D

  5. omg love your pic with the pumpkins~~
ah love the black dress too…n the military style…very chic…
for magazines…i like cancam and anecan…

    • jenny says:

Ah yes CanCam! I went through my CanCam phase years ago when I was super drawn to the oh so glam life of an OL. I bought it from ‘06 till ‘08. But after being a real OL for a few years it didn’t feel anywhere near as glamorous and brand drenched as CanCam made it seem XDD

  6. Fatiha says:

it sounds like you had a lot of fun~! hehe you look super pretty too!!! i’ve always loved pumpkins~♪ i always seem to be looking forward to them!!! ♥♥♥ i honestly love that dress you’re wearing…. O_O i love ZOO ~‼ and the food from the Italian Deli looks delicious!!!! i bet it WAS delicious too… ^_^

    have fun making dinner~~~

  7. Mai says:

That’s cute that you got to go to the pumpkin patch :3~ I’ve never been to one before, are you going to cut a design into your pumpkin?

Your outfit is really cute btw (:

  8. Alyssa says:

Oh wow, a pumpkin patch! I’ve never been to one before… I don’t even know if there is one around me. I’ve always wanted to go to one. :)

The jacket looks adorable one you! Love it~

  9. Linda says:

yayyyy! you’re blogging more :D i love love love reading your entries!
ahhh pumpkins! so cute :) and i love the effects on the pictures you took at the farm, how do get them to come out like that?

  10. Kimi says:

Aww, I miss going out and picking pumpkins myself instead of going to the supermarket to do it ! Unfortunately where I live now, there is no where to do that unless you drive for a couple hours !! D:
LOL, and you should definitely give the kids that don’t dress up pretzels ! Here, the kids that don’t dress up only get two candy bars from me. P: I’m mean, ahaha~

Your outfit is cute as always !! Loving the leopard jacket !! :D

    • jenny says:

I can’t imagine, I’m sure you miss it alot! I grew up the opposite. I always had to buy one at the supermarket but NOW I have the pumpkin patch option after I moved!

I like that idea!! OMG, I’ll answer the door and say, “OK, those wearing costumes raise your hands!” And they get GOOD candy! I could give them full sized bars too because SO FEW ACTUALLY DRESS UP ARGARGARARAG

  11. Anonymous says:

OMG this pumpkin patch looks like a horror movie, Im afraid of it! xD Oh i had never seen that kind of pumpkin before! This is more round!
I love your outfit, mostly your dress! Im looking foward a napolean style dress or bolero~ *_*
Pop sister cover is so cuuuute T^T
    Thanks for sharing! ^.^

    • chiihime says:

sorryy for anonymous comment! I forgot to fill the fields T.T

    • jenny says:

Don’t be scared! OK, ok, I agree, there’s a eire of creepiness to them, I can’t deny that! But I also kinda like that too but I couldn’t imagine being here at night :OOO BOOGIEMAN gonna get ya!

:OO I know what type of dress you’re talking about! I LOVE that look on boots actually, it’s divine!

  12. jayjayne says:

Such a great outfit you have there – also pumpkin picking!
Do they charge you by the kilo (whatever weight you folk use!) – or just by the pumpkin?
Here in Oz they charge $4/kg which is a major rip since one of those things can weigh
    up to $7 – just for me to rip the insides out and hack into it! D;

    POPSISTER!

I wish we had stockists here in Oz – BOO!

    • jenny says:

LOL it’s pound here in little ole “we must be different in every way” US :P and YES! It’s not too much though. The one I’m holding is the one we got at 15 pounds and it only cost 7$ :)

  13. Thao says:

I really like the dress and the shoes!

I love how the trees have already changed colors and it’s really looking like autumn. It still looks like summer here in California. It only felt like fall this weekend when it started raining heavily.

    • jenny says:

      Thanks! :D

      You guys had incredibly hot weather in late summer so I’m not surprised. At least you’ll have something pretty for November then? Ours will be all bare trees by then ;-;

  14. cin says:

loving the jacket! you look very cool with your pumpkin picking outfit hehe
uuuu rinka! i only got the september and october editions of popsiter since they were half price in bookoff
i have to agree that i like their style more than in popteen :D

    • jenny says:

      My pumpkin outfit XDDD!

Oh that’s lucky you got them at bookoff! I bought some Used Mix mags there 50% off~~ it’s great, it’s like…. exactly what I wish I had here LOL

  15. sukipooki says:

those wart covered pumpkins sent a chill down my spine! lol, that’s so cute you two celebrate halloween like this every year! All I do is buy the large packs of candy and gorge myself lol! that military dress is sooo cute! Im always afraid to order off zoo since my last few experiences were that good but you’ve raised my confidence! I wish I could find a place that sold popsister in my city! So far they only sell popteen and other gyaru magazines! perhaps sometime in the near future….

    • jenny says:

Aren’t they so gross!? But I feel badly for them too, BUT little kids, especially boys, like to get these ones because they’re so “ugly!” So hopefully they’ll find a home :P

I know what you mean about Zoo. I have gotten a few things that the quality was less than super, but for the inexpensive price I’ve gotten more that I was happy with than not (thankfully!)

      At least you have SOME mags being sold in your city. My magazine store shut down so I’m back to having to buy online ;-;

  16. Thanh Thao says:

Wow, you look awesome in the pumpin patch! I love your outfit of the day, I guess I had better wear more dresses, too! But as Germany is usual super casual, I would become an eyecatcher then, hahahNo, sorry, I didn’t want to sound like a bragger! XD

Halloween is a BIG holiday in the States, right? Here in Germany it is actually not so big, only few people make parties and there are no children going from house to house to “trick or treat” That’s so nice of you to think of the children’s health! :-)You’ll become a future good Mommy for sure =)

I did not know you like German stuff so much, you should have said earlier! :-) Then I could’ve send you some things, but in a week I’ll leave for a one year stay in Tokyo… Would you like to exchange addresses with me? I plan a big Christmas event for friends and blogger friends :-)

    • jenny says:

Haahaa, it’s funny you say Germany is casual. I think I can agree but also when I was in High School & exchanged there the German students were WAY trendier than us ULTRA-CASUALLY DRESSED American students so I think of Germany as still really trendy compared to US XDD

Yea Halloween is pretty huge here, it was my favorite holiday growing up too~ :D

Oh xmas cards & such!? Ah yes that would be toll! We can get together later and email closer to xmas. I need to start getting my list together & shopping for holiday cards XDDD!!!

      HAVE A SAFE FLIGHT!

  17. Cindy says:

Going to the pumpkin patch sounds like so much fun, I don’t think we have any around here. O.o Are you going to carve or paint it?

hahaha about giving your local kids pretzels, that would be awesome!

I saw you cheetah coat on your previous post and have went just nuts for it, but now that I’ve seen someone wearing it I’m really sold! Looks so warm and snugly. :D

    • jenny says:

I’M GONNA CUT ITS FACE RIGHT OPEN! So yeah, carving :3

      It’s quite warm & snuggly! Only complaint… no pockets. When I bought it I was like, “eh, no big.” But I catch myself going into the non-existent pockets ALL the time =_=;;

  18. Genevieve says:

Punkin patch YAY! I really wanted a white pumpkin to carve into a ghost but OF COURSE at the patch we picked yesterday there were NONE (except the mini ones). I got a mini white one & plan on sticking it to my car dash ;)

    • jenny says:

Yea we noticed most the white pumpkins were already long gone too =Y You got a “baby boo” pumpkin! Those are the cutest XD

  19. Ys says:

Picking pumpkins sounds like such a sweet, relaxing thing to do. The Halloween party is at my mother’s again this year, we’re all dressing up Bible-themed ;) We never used to celebrate Halloween before … I think it’s more of an American celebration isn’t it?

  20. Miya says:

wow that looks like so fun! i have never gone pumpkin picking before. you look adorable in the pumpkin patch. :) I love that you got starbucks on the way to the farm. I can definitely relate…. I am a city girl at heart. I think I will start buying popsister once I get back to the states again…

  21. Nami says:

Oh Jenny you’ve made so many blog posts since I last checked up XD

  22. haneul says:

Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve been here. OHhh how i missed reading sushi cat. xD
Sigh. a pumpkin patch?! that’s awesome! I’ve never been to one before. Just out of curiosity, is it american tradition for one to visit the pumpkin patch before halloween?

    • jenny says:

I’d say it’s a tradition for sure though not everyone can go to an actual patch to get pumpkins because farms aren’t always nearby.

  23. Bianca says:

Everyone is going pumpkin pickin, I live so far from everything, and have no car (or a license ^^;;)

I was pretty surprised when I saw RInka on the cover as well, I think thats a good direction for Popsister, I cant even look at popteen anymore its sugar overload, my brain just explodes in candy peeps…I cant wait for that one, must by it (at least its not a janurary issue, those are usually a bust in the Japanese magazine world)

    • jenny says:

I know right!? Tis the season!

Yea every time I get a new Popteen issue it’s more & more “meh” for me because all the shibuhara & rock are being sucked out. It’s cool though, it is popTEEN so I get that. Now that they have the older sister equivalent it’s all good~~

  24. Miamy says:

Omogosh the pumpkin farm!! looking gorgeous with the orange spots here and there xD
I wish I could pick out my own pumpkin too! :)

    • jenny says:

Wish you could too, COMES JOIN ME! I didn’t realize the pumpkins sort of have “trails” set up in the patch until I saw these photos :D

  25. Courtney says:

Lovely pumpkins! Lovely outfit! I need to get one!!

  26. Betty says:

Oh wow, those wart filled pumpkins do not look appealing >.

  27. ada says:

    Awesome pics! Just awesome!
This one is so so so great! U should put it on your tumblr! http://sushi-cat.net/pics/10_24_10_7.jpg
    Ur a pumpkin gurl, ne~~ :P
    Leopard jacket really suits u!

About Popsister’s cover, that was a nice suprise for me. I thought that Tsubasa will be on every cover, but oh :D
Ur quiet similar to Rinka, don’t u think? :)

  28. rene says:

    hey Jen!!!

You look so hot in the pumpkin field!! I love leopard print! My bf hates it though. Haha!
    Food looks yum!!

And the warts pumpkin………. my hair is standing. EEW.
