H’ween Gift and Outfit Chatter

Received a cute Halloween care package! Daiso love! Black cat hat & pail, hair tie, and bean bag owl plus an ANAP catalog~ AND she sent me TWO boxes of the cookies I had bought when visiting a supermarket in Saitama Prefecture COUNTRY MA’AM! This is a set of the 3 “Best Hits” with Strawberry Cheesecake flavor, Vanilla, and Darjeeling (tea) flavor! DARJEELING IS THE BEST! I can’t even describe how strange & amazing it tastes!

Been busy the past few evenings. I feel REALLY tired too. The other night I shut my eyes to sleep & when I opened them at 6:00am it felt like I had only blinked!! Horrible feeling D: But at least work was fun Friday. Had a meeting that went well & there was a surprise party for my boss in the afternoon with double cakes.

I ran to h&m the other day to grab a gray knit poncho. I liked the large turtleneck & cabling because it reminds me a little of this EMODA piece~

I said a little!! LOL , OK, so it’s barely the same but I still wanted it It’s sorta a cheat too. I can just throw it on with some jeans or khaki’s, slick back my hair into a ponytail, slap on some boots and still look “presentable” in as little as 5 minutes. The 5 minute situation happens more often than I’d like. So lately I’ve been buying pieces that are cut a bit more interestingly but that can still be thrown on quickly, even when braless (whoops, tmi? ) and not look like a woman who’s given up on herself (lol, dnw~).

I got this really long button up ruffle blouse while at H&M too! Was on clearance for $10

For example I really love this wide dolman sleeved button up pairing with this light gray dolman (again) sleeved long cardigan. The cardigan has varying knit patterns too so it’s not so boring. Throw on black heels, boots, or oxfords (last year I had like 1 pair of black shoes! Lol) and I’m good to go.

From Forever 21 but I couldn’t find it on the website

From Yesstyle but gray is now sold out (sorry!)

A t-shirt & jeans situation without the t-shirt & jeans. You know, it’s cool with me to wear tee & jeans in summer when it’s 90 degrees out but now that it’s 50~70F I want to put more effort into it.

I’m just trying to be smarter about purchases. I have, in the past, purchased things I’ve hardly worn. Either it only matches with 1 thing or it just didn’t get rotated into the mix often enough. Anyway. So blah. Boring talk but it’s been on my mind as I shop a bit for this winter. I’m also going through a lot of stuff in my closet for my little sis. :haha: Some of it I think she’ll just use more as a young college freshman compared to her older sis who, on a daily basis, has to dress more office appropriate than fun due to, well, work :p! She never acts excited in front of me about the clothes but my mom says she LOVES it and I do see her on facebook wearing them nonstop. Like this one dress I wore when I visited them 2 years ago. She seems to wear it a TON. I wonder if it’s because she’s actually seen me wear it = automatic cool points? Loooool. We don’t talk much because of the age difference. She’s kinda really shy around me. Or, well, more aloof. But I’m getting waaaaaay off point.

Not that I ever had a point I was making lol

OK, I’m just gonna post some outfits from this past week~ Most of it’s the new stuff I got at Forever21 last weekend

Coat: Forever21
Blouse: Forever21
Black Pants: Forever21
Boots: しまむら
Scarf: LDS
Earrings: Forever21
Necklace: catholic heirloom

Knit Poncho: H&M
Slashed Leggngs: UNIQLO
Black Tank Dress: Forever21
Oxford Heels: Payless
Hat: H&M
Quilted Bag: Victoria’s Secret PINK

I’m really tired now so off to bed~~

LOVE THE OUTFITS!

I wish I were more creative with my outfits, but I’m just so boring!
I love just throwing on the closest thing with minimal make (just power and some gloss) - I’m just far too lazy to do anything else! URGH!

Great care package!

Shame Halloween isn’t a big thing here, otherwise I would be all over it like office ladies on cheesecake.

I don’t see yours as boring but as sleek tbh! You work crazy hours right now too, so I can’t even imagine having the time to put on more than powder & gloss. I put all my daily makeup at work too btw. I get in really early and me & my coworker always come in no make and then slap some on

I absolutely love the outfits you wore this past week! I think your looks are becoming more sophisticated. Not that they weren’t from the beginning! You just look more grown-up-ish LOL. Sorry, hope you know what I mean ANYWAY I love the cheetah print coat. At first I didn’t recognize that the same coat was on the F21 website. You seem to pull it off so much better than the model from their website. Seriously, every time I see something look good on the model, they turn out looking horrible on me -_- Anyway, great post!

jenny said
October 24, 2010 @ 3:47 pm

No worries, it’s no accident! After seeing so many women in Tokyo wearing mode or military styles just really appealed to me. Plus I can wear a lot of these things to work too which is a bonus as I’ve become bored with having such a night & day closet of extreme differences between my work clothes & non-work

i wish i had a cool older sis who gave me all her cool older sis clothes! but nah, i just steal my older sis’ clothes ‘cuz we’re only one year apart

i love your outfits! and your poses! lol

i was at the chinese uniqlo and they dont have a large selection of leggings, totally disappointing =(

jenny said
October 24, 2010 @ 3:50 pm

Wow really? Are leggings not “big” there? I know in Japan they are and in the US they are too :(

those are some amazing gift baskets! And Im loving that fur jacket, faux fur I hope lol, my little sister is really shy around everyone BUT me! She’s like a monkey at home but right when we get out of the house she’s as quiet as a mouse! Go figure, and we’re only a year apart too! Too bad our styles are way off so we can never be the “clothes” sharing sisters =(

jenny said
October 24, 2010 @ 3:50 pm

It’s F21 brand so… at 40$ it’s extremely safe to assume FAUX.

Um, wow! Nice outfits you got there! Definitely different outfit snaps than you had before, but am loving it either way! I don’t think I could pull it off as well as you could~ Plus, at my office it’s casual all the way so sometimes it’s hard deciding to what to wear instead of usual office attire (can’t go wrong with a tee and jeans…soooo college hahaha).

jenny said
October 24, 2010 @ 3:53 pm

I often wish my office was more casual. Like most IT offices, but because it’s also “Communications” we have “business” casual only. Sometimes I loathe it, sometimes I give in and try to enjoy it mix in as much as “me” as I can. It’s a reason I bought a lot of this new stuff. I can wear it to work. At least we get casual Fridays where we can wear jeans

I agree! Winter is great for getting to dress up because in the summer, I hardly want to wear anything since it’s just so hot! My shirt would be off all the time if I was a guy!

Getting so excited for Halloween!!

jenny said
October 24, 2010 @ 3:55 pm

LOL word. Summer you just feel dirty nonstop no matter what you wear thanks to humidity and heat =_=

October 24, 2010 @ 2:10 am

aw…i’ve the same problem too…buying stuff that i know i’m only going to wear once…haha mainly stuff that i love but just doesn’t look that good on me *sigh*…often find stuff that still have tags on in my closet~~ur saturday look is very trendy!! not many girls can pull that off~~n_n

LOL it was definitely mode week I think! Testing out all my new picks~~ I wasn’t that big into mode or military looks until Tokyo. Seeing all the other women wearing it really attracted me! I wasn’t into it at first b/c it reminded me of “office wear” but now I’m feeling bored with my work-looks so this will help me feel somewhat more “fashionable” 5 days a week 8 hours a day LOL

aslkejr *drool* those cookies look so good. i’ve been in such a ‘i want sweeeets’ mood, but i haven’t really indulged it (that’s a good thing, right?)

“even when braless” LOL REALLY? this happens? i feel SO NAKED w/o a bra! hahahaha sorry i’m loling WITH you not AT you, promise~

awhah i only have two brothers so we never really give clothes to each other…but my youngest brother most definitely thinks my opinion is RLY IMPORTANT when it comes to clothes. if i give him something/like something, then it’s automatically a lot better. idk, i think its more a reflection on our similar styles than anything else :b

ok is it totally weird to say this cord (http://sushi-cat.net/pics/10_23_10_11.jpg) fits your…NOSE. seriously, it just ‘fits’ you, but for some reason i love your NOSE in that picture hahahaha *dork
anyway, i like all the newer outfits with the stuff from f21!

jenny said
October 24, 2010 @ 4:06 pm

That’s a REALLY good thing! You are stronger willed than I D
Hum, the braless thing was weird to me but when I went from a D cup to, well, much less! LOL! I enjoyed the fact I can “get away” with not wearing one & you can’t tell the difference. SO FREEING! LOL AND I bought a ton of wireless bras too, ho ho ho that was amazing to me too~
Oh my nose!! This shop staffer at earth music & ecology in Tokyo was like “You have such a beautiful strong nose” *oh fail, the grass is always greener I guess! I told her she can have my Italian nose if I could have her cute Japanese button nose D:

everything you bought is so pretty~ kekeke~♪ and it’s hard not to buy things you REALLY want, but you know you’ll hardly wear…. it’s like you just satisfied that you have it in you closet… O_O and i hate “disposing” of those clothes too… TT_TT there’s only a 2-4 year age difference between me and my siblings, so it can get really annoying… especially when there’s 4 of us. let’s just say it’s hard not to argue… ^^;;; anyway~ you look so pretty in your photos~‼ i always tell myself i MUST go shopping, but i always end up putting it off… h. i’m such a lazy person… -.-

o__o! Did you get a black ribbon for your neck with the $10 ruffle blouse? Cause it was supposed to come with a black ribbon to tie around the neck x;~ Also is your poncho form H&M the one that was $19.95 from their “Elle picks”? I heard it sold out REALLY quickly and started selling for like $100+ on ebay.

Your penpal is so nice! Are you going to send her anything in return :3? I have a penpal too, but I have no idea what to send her for the Halloween season.

jenny said
October 26, 2010 @ 9:00 am

It’s naturally soft which is a blessing AND a curse because it doesn’t hold styles easily and is very flat without tons of teasing & product. But thank you *^^* I use Tsubaki conditioner

I was looking at that leopard jacket too!!!! Does it fit true to size? I was making an order online, and that was the only thing I was worried about….

What size did you end up getting?

LOVE your outfit posts…so much fall inspiration!!!

jenny said
October 26, 2010 @ 8:45 am

I’d say “mostly yes” on the true to size. I got a small. I wear a small or xsmall (but they didn’t have xs in stores) And it fits nicely with just enough room that if I wanted to wear a thicker sweater or cardigan under it I could. I do have to say that for a small the sleeves are LONG. LOL

Snap on the smart shopping thing, I had to start doing it because when i was at uni, having extra cash and awesome shops meant i brought alot of stuff I never wore or wore once and then my style changed. So i de cluttered last year and everything I kept I’ve tried to wear.So far so good,I think i have 1 item with a tag on and thats cos I haven’t actually had a chance to wear it yet:( and only brought it recently.

I’ve 2 older sister and a younger ,so I used to get the best of giving and receiving clothes. Not so much any more thou as only my youngest sister has similar tastes .
