Dinner at Tower Oaks Lodge

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011 | 65 Comments

FOLLOW UP ENTRY!
hah! Some snaps from Monday night’s dinner. It’s funny the snow didn’t start until the moment we finished at the Restaurant and got in the car! We were going to go out to a few more places but instead went home. Turns out the storm wasn’t much. Some ice. Nothing bad enough to keep me from work

This is an establishment of Clyde’s (Tower Oaks Lodge) located in Rockville. It specializes in more “home cooked” inspired dishes. Here’s the info because last time I blogged about it a lot of people asked where it was. It’s situated in the middle of a corporate park area so it’s not so obviously a Clyde’s xD

It’s hard to see, because the lighting is very low, but they’re decorated for Valentine’s!! There are red hearts everywhere! Hanging from the ceiling, red lights everywhere, it’s like 100% max Valentine’s Day!

This was my appetizer as quoted from the menu:
Chef Clark’s Butcher Plate
duck duck…goose!
Duck prosciutto, duck rillette, foie gras torchon, flatbread, pickled turnips, dried cranberries and house mustard.

It was PHENOMENAL! I love duck, so if you love duck and are there try this!

The dish above was Mike’s appetizer. It’s basically smothered chicken livers, he gets it every time. I’ve tried it, I don’t like chicken livers but the cajun rice with gravy is authentically fantastic.

Above, Mike’s blackened chicken fettuccine dinner followed by my beef stew dinner. It was so wonderfully rich in flavor!

They change their menu with the seasons and what’s available locally so they’re ALWAYS something new to try.

Blazer, Skirt, Heels: H&M
Lace Fringe Top, Quilted Bag: Yesstyle
Tights, Necklace, Earrings: Forever 21

There’s fox hunting and polo gear all over the dark hardwood setting, this would definitely be the epitome of what you described!

ahhh your pictures are so cute! I love the first collage-like one where there are pictures of you in motion hahaha everyone seems so good at taking fullbody shots with mirrors but I just cant seem to do it properly! (I just get very blurry pictures D) Must practice more if I ever want to be able to post understandable OOTD posts hahaha

jenny said
February 3, 2011 @ 8:45 pm

Ah my mirror pics can be blurry too because I get such bad lighting! It’s difficult for sure sometimes t_t I sometimes have to ramp up my iso setting to 1600 to get rid of the blur but then it’s all full of “noise” and speckled, blah.

February 3, 2011 @ 12:56 am

Does Korea celebrate it at all? I was surprised to learn how many foreign countries picked up V-day (I’m a vday lover, though I keep it low key.) You guys try to do stuff for vday!

SERIOUSLY took me AGES to find tights like these! I could have kicked myself for not buying a pair when I saw them 2 years ago!

I just went to a Forever 21 store ….hmmmm about two weeks ago. It was actually split into two stores on two stories. The cosmetics/jewelry was on floor two, and the clothing on floor 1…and they didn’t connect. Weird! But I absolutely loved them! And is that beef stew…with mashed potatoes?! =O!

jenny said
February 3, 2011 @ 8:36 pm

I’ve been into a F21 like that! It was divided in the middle and clothing on one side, accessories on the other. It’s easier to find accessories that way but looked less pretty

Yes! There’s a plop of whipped potatoes in the middle!

February 3, 2011 @ 2:53 pm

Awww! I love it when there’s Valentine’s decorations around, especially at a nice restaurant! The food looks delicious, and you look gorgeous. ♥

We’ve stopped doing exchanging ‘actual’ gifts for vday. Well, that is, I get the traditional gifts of flowers, chocolates, & balloons now and sometimes I get him a candy he likes but he hates chocolate so it’s his fault he gets so little LOL

YUMMM~ The ambience looks so romantic and homely.
I love duck and hates livers too. But the bf looks liver. I’m surprised that Westerners eats livers too (other than goose livers).

jenny said
February 5, 2011 @ 7:26 pm

Yea livers aren’t as popular here as they were in the southern US. In Southern USA they eat lots of things like livers and “gizzards” more commonly \/
