Photo Challenge A-Z: B

B is for BEER

I’m not really a beer drinker. I just could never really get into it. At this point in my life, on the rare occassions I do drink, I prefer champagne even the cheap stuff is fine . So I confess that Mike bought this for me and drank it too. I had seen this brand before and tried to find their “Real” Ginger Ale a few years ago but gave up. Found this just at a local beer & wine store. This Japanese company makes the following flavors/types in the Hitachino series:

Hitachino Nest Beer

I’ve been continuing to learn a few new things with the Pen. How to set functions to buttons, save personalized settings, and testing out stacking filters and manual focus. It’ll be sunny all weekend so I’ll finally get to take it outdoors with me I think! For these I used pin-hole + pop art filters and manual focus. I still feel quite novice but I don’t have disillusions of being a pro so it’s all good

My grandmother collected them and it’s a big part of my childhood so they remind me of her. Recently she passed on her entire owl collection to me. . So I’m adding to it

I love the pictures your camera takes, I’ve been looking for a new camera, too. So it’s good to see how photos come out! I put this one on my list along with a couple of others :3

This beer though. I have to go out and find it! I hope stores near me have them. I’m not much of a beer drinker, either, but I’d so be willing to try this just to have the bottle!

Aww, it looks too cute to be beer. I’ve never gotten used to the taste of it, it’s just too gross for me.

I can see you are getting used to the camera, it takes really nice pictures. The colors and effects are really eye catching. Good luck with the camera practice!

I’m not much of a beer person either….basically I’m not too into alcohol or alcholic beverages. I’d much rather prefer to drink my fruit smoothies and juices, thank you! lol.

But that owl beer bottle is quite cute.

That’s probably the cutest beer bottle I’ve ever seen! I’ve never seen it here in Japan, but that’s because I always just seem to get my drinks from conbinis.

Agreed entirely! I hate the taste of alcohol, I don’t understand why my friends enjoy it so much :X

But wow - owl beer? I would have been tempted to try it anyway just for the cuteness factor!

Also, I went to a Japanese grocery store recently, and found several types of sake clearly aimed at women (some types even had collagen and vitamins added!). Beauty-enhancing sake, I couldn’t believe it O_o

I wonder how an Expresso Stout would taste like.

I know playing around with the features on the Olympus Pen is really fun. (kind of sad stacking filters isn’t possible on the E-PL1)

I like beer, but what I REALLY like is cider. I’m so excited whenever I’m somewhere that carries a good cider on tap.

Being that I’m saving up for the same camera, I’m loving your A-Z photo challenge and finding it makes me anticipate my future purchase even more.

I love the packaging or product design of japanese products in general. They take so much care and effort into the whole product and it definitely shows. The beer you mentioned looks like something I’d like to try (even though, I’m also not much of a drinker/beer person ; just like you). I prefer cocktails lol! But the flavors you mentioned sound really appealing to me~especially the classic one Keep in touch!

I’m not a big beer drinker. I can drink it if that’s what’s available or if we’re at a beer garden there are fancy beers that don’t taste like beer at all, but I totally prefer wine and champagne. I’m not sure when the switch happened either. I used to be all about my tequila…now I don’t wanna hear that lol.

I’m not a beer drinker either (or a drinker at all really) but I would like to try some of that just because the bottle is so cute!
I’ve been really liking the photos you take with the PEN… You’re soooo tempting me to buy oneeeeeee~~ Have you tried the diorama setting? I thought it looks really cool I have yet to read the manual for my GF1 even though I’ve had it for a year… (probably because it’s in Japanese~ lazy lazy) I got a book for it from Japan too but only flicked through it ^^;

I’ve played around with diorama a bit but I haven’t had time to use it in the proper setting. Instead I’m mostly using the pop and pinhole art filters most! Plus manual focus, loving manual focus and manual aperture settings!

Ahhh we sell this. This is not a cheap brand. Their beers are on the heavier side. Pretty good stuff.

For someone who doesn’t like beer, you might find lambic beers more to your liking. Lindeman’s lambic beers in FRUIT flavors Raspberry, Peach, Cherry, Black current and Apple Almost like fruity champagne with a subtle beery undertaste ;D
