Sorta Moccasin Obsessed Lately

Thursday, July 21st, 2011 | 63 Comments

Went to Tyson’s to return some Steve Madden moccasins. I was so stupidly sad over it. I really loved how they looked but when I got them home they fit so differently.

Luckily I found some Minnetonka soon after and 20% off! They had fringe details which is what I was really wanting plus the color I wanted. I’ve been wearing my pink moccasins so much I decided to invest in a brown pair. I’m actually happier I ended up with Minnetonka brand anyway.

I also picked up 2 skirts and a denim 3/4 blouse. The skirts felt so Snidel A/W to me and they were both on sale. And speaking of, I got this Free People sweater a few weeks ago too because it reminded me of Snidel inspo.  It’s more beige in person

I wore it out shopping this day because it was a bit cooler in the morning and I always get cold in a mall.

Maxi Dress - H&M
Sweater - Free People (South Moon Under
Sandals - Target
Bag - Yesstyle
Necklace - Forever 21

One of the skirts, from Urban Outfitters on sale for $20.00
Denim shirt from MNG … not on sale Part of their new collection~ It’s such a super soft and thin denim shirt. Perfect denim shirt to me.

Everything I buy recently has autumn in mind…

South Moon Under Dresses

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 | 64 Comments

I mentioned shopping at South Moon Under the other day. In recent weeks I’ve gotten two dresses from there.

The first is a border or striped dress with a twist. [DV by Dolce Vita] Tan velvety pockets!! I’ve wanted a border onepiece for some time now. A la LOWRYS FARM inspired. But I never LOVED any I tried. Something was missing for me. They looked too boring or shaped me poorly. But when I saw this one I fell in love!

It’s a good thin summer knit material but could be layered for winter too. The pockets are not only different in color but texture too! Soft and velvety on the outside with a cool satin finish on the inside. Cap sleeves are a nice change from the usual tank silhouettes found on most summer border dresses. I dunno. Every time I see myself in this dress I feel really happy . It’s perfect. It’s probably my favorite item right now.

And here is the black lace dress from last weekend! [Gracia] I wore it with a black blazer, black oxford heels, and black opaque tights with a bright red bow on 1 ankle. This would look like funeral attire if it weren’t DC where black isn’t just a color, it’s often a requirement. This dress is sweet with the lace and asymmetrical hem but also it sorta has a cool vibe since it’s black.

It’s so difficult to photograph pitch black details…

It’s funny. Some time ago I was looking at my dresses (pre-closet-overhaul) and thought “I don’t wear dresses like I used to.” There was a time where I hated wearing pants and wore dresses/skirts only. I couldn’t GET ENOUGH of dresses. Then it changed and I hardly ever wore dresses.

Lately I think I’m at an even balance. I wear dresses/skirts as much as I wear pants/shorts.

There was no real point to that except that I find it interesting I’ve been buying dresses again lately.

Like my Pixie Market Blush Pink Dress….

Ok~~ I think I have enough new dresses. No more big shopping for a while or else I won’t have even enough time to wear it all. Plus I still have old stuff to share hahahaa~~ Actually I bought that border dress a month ago now? Wow, times flies so quickly.
