Ranzuki How To Distress Jeans

Friday, December 4th, 2009 | 42 Comments

MERRY CHRISTMAS
THEME TIME!

You know I always gotta have a Christmas theme! So I threw this together. Mike approved of my fail Xmas lights drawing on the banner, haahaa. Hey, I was just happy he could tell they were Xmas lights! This will be up after Christmas for a little bit given I’ll be super busy so… yeaaaa

I saw this how to distress jeans tutorial in Ranzuki and I immediately thought of my outcast-ed jeans from my last post! I want to try it!! I’ve been wanting some really, really distressed jeans.
I already have some that look like this…

What I’m talking about are super stringy distressed! I want to wear colorful tights, like my leopard tights, underneath them!! I haven’t been able to find much in the moderately priced stores here that live up to these looks…

Left is from Popteen obviously, the right is Wei Son from her blog. I know this outfit’s a bit out there but I freakin’ LOVE it! I dunno, I just do! I don’t think I’d do such big gaps on the top though (LOL)

This is the Ranzuki how to, I went ahead and googled a few other how-to’s for distressing too. Since I want to do something so intense it’ll probably take a while. So I’ll do it tomorrow.

Larger version

I’m hoping it doesn’t start snowing too badly in the morning. I really want to go to Dean & Deluca’s for a Yule Log Cake ! But it’s saying 100% chance of snow! I’ll just have to see how the morning weather is.

Oh, what a good idea! I already have a pair like the pair you have, but I’ve always wanted ones that are more distressed to show my tights too!

Oh wow, your christmas layout is super cute~~! I love it so much, the colors are just lovely. ^^

The distressing tutorial is very useful, do you think it would be cool to distress shorts in that way?

Oh yes! I didn’t think about that but you could do shorts too!

OMG love the new layout! It’s so cute.

I friggen heart distressed jeans like the one from Popteen. I’ve seen some in Hollister or A&F but they’re not moderately priced though. Haha.. I have a pair of shorts I distressed myself. GREAT stress relieving activity! LOL~

Now I need some polka dotted socks! I like how she paired it up with her blue suede shoes.. xD

Haahaa, that’s what I was thinking! I really didn’t want to drop so much $ if I could revive an old pair of already purchased pants

I didn’t realize her shoes were suede til you pointed that out. LOL, nice! *big grin*

Hahaha, we always have the same weather! I remember you blogged about raining a few days ago and it was raining over here where I live too. And today, it said that it’s going to snow as well! (It was suppose to snow yesterday but it didn’t)

I actually only have one pair of distressed jeans. They look a bit similar to one in Popteen that you posted.

Your drawing is cute! I don’t think it’s a failure at all. =)

Lovely Christmas theme! I should so a little sprucing up as well.

Ah, yes! I love distressed denim, mostly because it’s comfy, so I bought a jean miniskirt from Plato’s Closet and hacked away at it with a knife and it came out pretty well. I’ve done it to a few of my other jeans, too, and it’s a much cheaper alternative. b

100 percent chance of snow? As someone who’s always lived in snow-less places, I must say I’m jealous :( love the new theme, I like it when people get festive in their layouts ^^

I had a pair of jeans that on friday had a lovely distressed hole on one knee, it looked fab. By Sunday the hole opened right up and the lower half was just hanging off, the hole was huge and I eventually had to throw them away. It was very distressing :-)

Nice new layout. And, heh heh, I tried distressing my own jeans once and took a cheese grader to them! It was fun and cathartic and they became my favorite pair ever! Pics when you are done!

Yea I read about using a cheese grater! I tried it but preferred the sand paper. Easier to work with for me.

I love how distressed jeans look. I’ve never heard of them called that before - I’ve always called them ripped jeans . They always remind me of Donnie Wahlberg from NKOTB he,
