Wii Fit as a Marriage Counselor

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 | 42 Comments

Had an interesting “conversation” with Wii Fit the other day. Mike isn’t as dedicated to using it as much as I am…

Huh? Haahaahaa What kind of question is that?!

I dunno, “The Same” I guess *chose*

EXCUSE ME!!?? What they’d do, get my Irish Catholic grandmother to input nagging marital advice into Wii Fit!?

Haahaa, a “SIDE NOTE” ORLYYYYYYYYYY! I’m not sure who should be offended at this point! Hahahahaa

I’m so glad I made the cookies for tomorrow’s office party yesterday. I got home tonight and totally passed out for a good 2 hours. I’m so exhausted! Got too much to keep up with.

I do feel a little sad that my office didn’t do their traditional “Christmas field trip” this year. I think because so many people bailed on it last year it didn’t seem worth doing. *Sad face* I didn’t bail! Obviously. I always looked forward to it, but, oh well. Things change I suppose. OK, I’m bumming mysekf out! So, tomorrow will still be fun! Good food and more overeating on sugar for me! HAAHHA :cake:

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Talk
It might be a bit early for a review on either of these products but it’s been part of my daily routine since this weekend, so why not. I mentioned I picked up the shampoo & conditioner of the John Frieda line “Sheer Blonde” and after 2 days of using it I could already tell a subtle difference.

SIDE NOTE: I’m naturally blonde. Before college I was actually naturally a bleach blonde (with black Italian eyebrows. Thanks to my family being a mix of Italian and Irish, I am a haircolor freak of nature!) But due to long class hours and now long work hours my hair rarely ever sees the sunlight, thus, has darkened significantly (not to mention the possibility of darkening with old age! yikes! lol) ANYWAY~

I found the “Go Blonder” line Monday and have been using that for 2 days as well. I can already tell a difference between the 2 lines.

Sheer Blonde:
“Highlights Activating” line.I think I might like it more. It added lightness and shine to even my brown hair changing it into more of an ashy blonde color. It’s also half the price of the Go Blonder line. My super blonde highlights glitter & glisten like gold with this stuff!

Go Blonder:
Lightens but in more of a rich way. Hair looks richer in color, shinier, and healthier compared to the Sheer Blonde outcome. However not as “light” looking color-wise. Though this line is supposed to lighten over time, so I’m not gonna throw in the towel just yet. I’m going to go through the entire bottle first before deciding. Tough, like I said, my hair looks healthier with this line compared to Sheer Blonde.

I sort of like them both, but Go Blonder is twice as much in cost. Thankfully I got it at CVS on a buy 1 get 1 sale.

Both products are ammonia and peroxide free and do not deposit color. It’s for both natural haircolor and color-treated.
And yes, they have a line for brunettes and redheads!

Got 2 photos. A before and after. Though I don’t think they’re too helpful since my hair color can look SO different depending on lighting. (And everyone’s computer monitor’s display are different too!) But these were taken using the same lighting and camera settings. Um, yea, I was a total mess in the before from this weekend. In my defense I took it in the morning before my shower after I had worn my hair waved the previous day! HAHAHAAA! The second picture is from today after work.

Like I said, so far the difference is subtle but more noticeable in person. Mike says he can tell a difference but perhaps he’s biased because he knows I’m using this stuff, hahahaa.

But, in short, I’m happy! I was looking for just a hair color pick-me-up, trouble-free. I didn’t want to go all out full on dye you know? I don’t have that sorta upkeep time to spare. I’m thinking of growing my hair out super long again and having to deal with dye wouldn’t be so fun. So yea, I’ll probably keep on buying from this line! I also noticed my hair is finally breaking less! I guess my other shampoo was causing all the horrible breakage I’ve been having lately. Despite it being an “anti-breakage” shampoo! *fail*

LOLZ I didn’t know wii fit decided to just become apart of the family. And we always question the movies were robots took over the world. I guess we just didn’t know the robots would be nagging wii’s lol.

Yummy cookies btw! I have always been interested in trying john frieda’s sheer brunette but its so ’spensive! T_T I like to buy silkening shampoos usually..I thought these might be nice but not make my hair silky, maybe i was wrong. I really do enjoy nexxus though…which is probably more ’spensive- i have double standards i guess

It’s funny b/c I like nexxus styling products but often talk myself out of them because of the price!

I LOL’D AT THE WII FIT OMG!!
Seriously!! How is that NOT relationship advice?! LMAO

Oh, your new hair color is nice! I like the picture on the right most. The lightness is cute and not overly blond, just enough to kind of put you in between blond and light brown.
Wow your hair looks so smooth and healthy…
I’ve been trying smoothing shampoo but I always have tons of frizzies, especially on the top of my head. I’ve also been getting a TON of split ends despite abandoning my hair dryer/straightener/curling brush. *sigh* Do you have any recommendations?

jenny said
December 18, 2009 @ 8:59 am

How often do you shampoo? Sometimes over shampooing can cause dry split ends. I use Fructis split in products and they really do help either keep them at bay or smooth them out for the day. Leave-in conditioners too!

Thanks for the advice!

I more or less have to shampoo every 24 hours because otherwise my hair gets incredibly greasy.↓↓ I actually have some of that fructis smoothing milk and I’ve been using that just on my ends lately and it has actually helped a lot, at least in terms of keeping them smooth and dry.

Now to find a combination that keeps my hair from frizzing even more…haha ^^;;

hahaha that’s funny~ i want a wiiiii~
I have been thinking of changing my hair color, but I am too chicken. My sister has changed hers numerous times. Since i don’t want something permanent, i’m gonna try to find a semi-permanent toner~~~ Is yours just shampoo?

jenny said
December 18, 2009 @ 9:01 am

Yea mine’s JUST shampoo with no coloring. I was looking for a semi-permanent too before, though everything for my hair color was only to darken & not lighten. Hopefully you’ll have better luck!

Back when I had a wii those messages would crack me up from the wiifit. Also the fact that your character sleeps or chills if you don’t use it and made everyone else who used it poke fun at you lol.

Wii: “Is COTA in the room? Okay, good ..
let’s be honest with each other .. is
COTA hitting the cookies hard lately?”

HAHA

Thanks for the Frieda review - I was thinking about trying to add a really sheer red to my dark brown hair, and this seems like the perfect stuff for it.

Andy - for some reason- really wanted to see what I’d look like with black hair, so he dyed it! I looked like ELVIRA HAHA

Haha, that Wii fit is pretty sassy! I don’t think it’s any of Wii Fit’s business XP Also I like how it likens relationships to owning a dog? >_>;;;

Wow, those cookies you made look so yummy. I am ashamed I am too lazy to bake or cook ^^;

Oh I can totally see a difference in your hair color, that’s so cool those shampoos can do that without ammonia or peroxide! Your hair looks totally soft and silky, so cute^^ I’m totally jealous ^3^

HAHAHAHA

WiiFit marriage counseling? That’s just down right hard core! Also, some of the brain training games can be really insulting! You just sit there staring at the screen going “DID HE REALLY CALL ME THAT?”

Blondeblondeblonde! Too bad many asian’s can’t go blonde as it can look super strange - mainly due to lack of upkeep! EPIC UBER REGROWTH EFFECT!

Oh I used to use that shampoo. I kinda want to go back to using it now cause I’ve never tried the go blonder one. I think I can see a small difference in your hair. But it could just be my computer xD

December 17, 2009 @ 6:37 pm

The Wii thing made me lol!! wth??
Tomorrow is my office’s Xmas luncheon (though we had an actual party last Friday… I don’t understand how many Xmas celebrations one can have but OH WELL) so I know exactly how you feel about overdosing on sugar, haha! Today I was like ‘well, I’ll just eat one cookie…’ *proceeds to eat 3* rofl~!
Your hair actually DOES look lighter in the second pic, though I’m not sure if it’s like you said with the monitor or because your hair was slightly wavy in the first pic~ but honestly I think it’s on its way to getting lighter :3

jenny said
December 18, 2009 @ 9:25 am

I think it is too because today I can really notice a difference, like, I’m unable to make up an excuse to myself for it just “looking lighter.”

Megan said
December 17, 2009 @ 9:55 pm

LOL your wii fit is so silly! Not sure if it called Mike a dog or what HAHA.

On my monitor, I can see a difference in your hair! It’s definitely lighter if only a little bit

With the anti-breakage shampoo… sometimes if your hair has TOO much protein (or keratin) it will break anyway just like it would if it’s lacking. :( You could probably use the anti-breakage shampoo once a week or something instead of everyday~~ One of the many things I learned from those 3 months of cosmo school lol.

jenny said
December 18, 2009 @ 9:27 am

Thank you! I think that must be it because my hair was healthier than ever (less styling tools & such) and suddenly it broke off so much! :(

i love wii fit!

pretty hair color. ;D

i tried the chocolate bihada mask and it’s heaven. there was still some liquid leftover and i didn’t have the heart to throw it out so i used it a few days later as a mini-facial. thank you for the lovely goodies.

jenny said
December 18, 2009 @ 9:27 am

Oh I’m glad it was a nice mask! Yea, there’s always left over liquid! I usually apply it to my neck, LOL. I hate being wasteful too.

LOL, love when the wii/wiifit gets sassy with its owners!

I see a pretty big difference in the before and after =o Even though cameras sometimes are iffy even when you’re in the same lighting… it’s a big change IMO.

December 18, 2009 @ 3:29 pm

Yeah! What’s up with the anti-breakage stuff making the problem worse? I was using the “Long Term Relationship” one from Herbal Essences and my hair has been breaking terribly ever since.

I do think it’s lighter and looks healthier, although maybe it’s cause your hair wasn’t as perfect in the first vs the second. Good to know. I’d definately like an update when you finish the bottle.

Hahaha your wii comments made me laugh–especially when the wii spewed out the random side note! LOL.

I think the haircolor you chose looks good! Like you said, it’s really subtle but it’s very natural looking
