Breakfast at Georgetown

Sunday, September 18th, 2011 | 34 Comments

Saturday I got up really early and headed out to Georgetown for breakfast at Clyde’s followed by shopping. I got coffee, french toast and bacon. It was supposed to be beautiful weather but it ended up being cold, gray, and sometimes rainy.

These were super fluffy owls. Abominable snow owls

I ended up not buying anything in Georgetown just window shopped. I dunno, nothing really stood out, I guess. I did end up getting this little succulent plant while grocery shopping this morning though!

That’s mostly what I’ve been doing these past few days. Housework. Grocery shopping, laundry, etc.

Mike starts his new job tomorrow. Been ironing his shirts & ties. My commute home is gonna change but not sure to what just yet… So I’ll play it by ear this week. I welcome the change but at the same time I know I’m not a person who adjusts to change well so I could be easily irritable this week. I hate change but understand it’s necessary for growth. Plus I also get frustrated and bored with mundane routines of every day life too…
Hmmmm~ I guess what I’m saying is that change is a necessary evil

Like today, I traded in my old iPod Touch since I haven’t used it since getting my phone. I bought it for $50 used and traded it in today for $70 whoo whoo!!!! \/

I can relate. I’m a creature of habit, I need time to get used to change. I noticed you have alot of owl stuff already

I am suddenly craving for bacon….

Yes, I collect owls because my grandmother collected them and they remind me of her. So I have a lot.

i’m used to change by now, it happens every day but that doesn’t mean i’m used to how tiring it is! constantly exhausted, emotionally and physically. sometimes i just want a little bit of monotony. meh.

Gloomy weather here even though it’s supposed to be spring soon. D: I’m on the hunt for succulent plants but I haven’t found any! I think they make such a good deco while needing little maintenance!

Change is good! I get bored easily too - probably why I shift things around in my room every few months or so~ Whatever will be will be though, I believe. Good luck! ^^

I figured if it survives past November I’ll repot it into something more winter-appropriate

Every time you bring up Clyde’s I think “Maybe I should go…” but that picture of the french toast has finally gotten me to commit. I WILL go the next time I’m in Georgetown. lol.

Oh well if you do go I recommend the Old Ebbitt Grill Clyde’s near the White House over the Georgetown one followed by the Chinatown Clyde’s. The Georgetown one has to be my least favorite. My all time favorite is the Twin Oaks Lodge Clyde’s

When I’m in DC I usually only make it to Georgetown–or occasionally Dupont for a favorite haunt–but if the Clyde’s by the White House is so much better it might be worth it to wander over. Besides, finding parking over there can’t possibly be any worse than finding parking in Georgetown. LOL.

I love that photo of you on the bridge ♥ The succulent you picked up is so cute too!
I can also understand how you feel about change… It’s hard to readjust your routine & get used to something new, but all change (even ‘bad’ is eventually for the good *hugs* Best of luck to your hubby with his new job & stay positive!

I feel exactly the same about change!! Even if it’s for the “worse” in the long run it’s still good because you learn to become stronger!

Congrats to his new job, I hope he likes it
I like change, mostly, I like the idea of starting something new and the possibilities it brings with it, but I can understand what you mean.

I love your owls (and new plant - looks very fall-ish)! I liked your photos. It might sound silly but to me that diner/cafe looks so typical American, something I would want to go to if I ever went to USA

It doesn’t sound silly at all! Actually that’s sorta how these restaurants are. Very ld style America. Like classic! It’s definitely on purpose

Wow that town looks so lovely! I love the old facades of the buildings and the grey autumn look of the photo. The breakfast looks amazing too of course, but I can’t look at it too long

Yummy! The breakfast looks great~ It’s definitely making me hungry. Hehe. The succulent it’s so cute, and the pot, it’s very Autumn appropriate. Good luck to both in this new adventure! I don’t like change either but, some say it’s good for us. LOL.

This post made me miss American food so much! It may sound odd but sometimes I just crave it.
I really want to go back over to the States to visit my family and explore some more

I must try Clyde’s if I ever go to the US
