Shinzi Katoh Series Crossbody Bag

Saturday, Apr. 7, 2012 | 43 Comments

Recently received this Shinzi Katoh purse from iswas on Yesstyle. I was looking for an easy little summer bag. Sometimes when I go out I only want to bring my phone + wallet. In winter I just use coat pockets and leave my larger bags at home. But in summer I don’t always have large pocket options. So I wanted something small and no-fuss.

I’ve already used this bag a ton of times. It’s perfect. :deco2: It’s extremely light and moves easily with you. I chose a color that would work with just about anything. Beige. Though the brown and navy were really appealing too. It comes with two strap lengths. I choose to use the longer strap for the crossbody option.

I love how simple this design is compared to my other bags which are covered in vintage style buckles, straps and clasp details. This one is so simple and sweet. It fits my iPhone, wallet, and often a few other things like tubes of lipstick, another small pouch, etc. It has a zip pouch on the inside as well. I love it. :deco3:

This little bag really suits you well, especially the shape and color of it. I’m OK with the bird symbol that’s on the bag, it kind of reminds me of the bird from Hollister and/ Abercrombie & Fitch haha.

I also use my pockets for wallets and keys, but yeah, in the summer and spring, I have to use a bag/purse to carry them. I need a new small bag btw, mine are falling apart. Wah!

Hahahah that never crossed my mind! I’m so used to seeing Shinzi Katoh items and the typical bird symbol that’s used on them.

  3. Kate says:

I love that bag!!! I want now!! It’s simple but I think there is some nice charm to it

  7. L says:

I was surprised the bag was small XD Looking at just the first pic I thought it was bigger. It matches your outfit colour scheme perfectly! Btw that is a very cute bob haristyle :)

    • jenny says:

Yeah it must have looked bigger in the previous entry. I always measure things out before purchasing anything & knew how small it would be or better yet how “perfectly sized” it would be for what I wanted :)

  8. Tori says:

So cute, & OMG YOUR HAIRCUT!!! *loves*

  9. Alisa says:

Ohhh!!! You cut your hair so shooort!
I thought you will let it grow longer ^^

    • jenny says:

Nah, letting it grow a full year was good enough. I had stopped blowing drying & styling every day. When I find myself “not trying” I feel it’s time for change! So, I changed! :D

  10. karme says:

    gimme dat BAG

    STOP CUTTING YOUR HAIR WTF

    • jenny says:

ahahahaha I love that I’ve let it grow for over a year without cutting and people say “weren’t you going to grow it out?” But I’m like “I DID! FOR OVER 1 YEAR STRAIGHT!” xDD

  11. Diyana says:

The bag is super cute! And I do like beige colour the best~

  12. Jinny says:

The bag looks really good on you!! (you don’t normally say that about bags but anyway…) I’m tempted to get one for myself now.

Btw your hair looks really cute ^^

  13. Fanny says:

    lovely bag :3

  14. Sidney says:

I am slowly discovering how much I love Shinzi Katoh stuff. And luckily, it is a randomly popular brand here!!!

OK but back to your bag. STILL LOVE IT. Actually, I didn’t realize how small it was until this post; I thought it was a bit bigger. But it really IS the perfect size. I always buy bags based on whether or not my camera will fit lol

    • jenny says:

Haha well this bag is definitely small. Probably the smallest one I own not counting small handle canvas bags. I could fit my PEN but nothing else, if I wanted to. It sort of flares out on the bottom which is a nice touch! The best thing is how soft and flexible the strap is.

  15. Kei says:

Adorable bag, I love how small and simple it is. The little bird is a nice detail!

I so need a bag like this, a cross body bag seems like it would put less stress on shoulders, not to mention a small bag where you’re forced to only carry the essentials :)

    • jenny says:

I definitely think the smallness is a factor!! Plus a good bag to strap-size ratio is important. Basically the bigger the bag the bigger the strap (for comfort at least.) I have this one large cross body bag that I ADORE but as it gets filled the very thin strap digs into my shoulder. If the straps were just a bit wider the weight wouldn’t pull on me so much :( #endrant

  16. cin says:

Cute haircut~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The bag is nice too :D

    • jenny says:

Thanks! Finally got to shampoo it today after letting the perm settle :P Now it’s so bouncy and full of body again! Haven’t had one since last April and they only last 2~3 months in my thin hair :(

  17. Wen says:

The bag looks nice~! ♡ I always find something when scrolling at Yesstyle haha ^^

  18. Julie says:

i love this bag! iswas has really nice wallets and purses. just a bit pricey. do you have any other yesstyle stores that you recommend besides iswas?

    • jenny says:

For bags? Smoothie is OK. I really like Ashton but they sell more expensive bags. For bags I haven’t shopped many others.

      • Julie says:

I saw Ashton while surfing through yesstyle and you\’re right. Very pricey. >.

        • Julie says:

AH! totally forgot about that symbol not to use so it cut off my message but the rest of it was… “I’ll definitely check out Smoothie. I’m looking for a new wallet since my current one has a torn seam on the credit card holder. Thanks for the recommendations!”

  19. Miia says:

the bag is super cute! Its looks like it goes with anything and is still subtly elegant

  20. Courtney says:

finding a good bag is so nice!! it makes every outfit feel nicer to me ~

  21. Lena says:

    Hi Jenny!
This is an odd question but would you happen to know if this bag could fit an ipad mini? I checked the dimensions on the store and they are both literally 1:1 (7.87×5.3)… Do you think it might be able to squeeze in fine? Sorry to bug you over an old post. Anyway, thanks for always sharing your great fashion and inspirations!

    • jenny says:

I’d say no (I’m not at home so I can’t test it ATM) but I can barely fit my phone and wallet. It’s the rounded shape that I think would make it unable to zip close.
