Sparkle Tee for the Holidays

How’s everyone’s weekend!?
I’m feeling a but bummed out it’s already Sunday night
hahaa
I had a pretty great weekend. Yesterday I went out to the mall and what not. Not going to be able to do that much longer. Holiday shopping has started and the roads are packed with panic-stricken insane drivers who are out to kill anyone in their path!
I found my new favorite key item Friday night! We ordered pizza for dinner and after-wards Mike asked why I was still dressed and not in my sweats? I told him we’ve been randomly going out some nights and I was tired of always having to throw on clothes and having fug hair when we do.
He laughed and got up and said, “Let’s get out then!!”
Found this top at Forever 21. Loved it! It’s a sparkly silver, loose fitted, short tee! It really reminded me of something I’d find at Free People. Plus I love the sparkle for the holiday season

I just had to get it!
:getit:
Already got a compliment on it Saturday at Sephora, haahaa

Silver Sparkle Top - Forever 21
Stripe turtleneck - Target
Jean Shorts - Abercrombie & Fitch
Black leggings - Victoria’s Secret
Fringe Boots - Yesstyle

I also got a stripped cardigan on sale at Victoria’s Secret. It was already on sale but I also had a $10 gift card! So I got this for $11!

I went to the Japanese bookstore and was SO SO SOOOOO HAPPY to snag the December JJ issue!! At first I thought the calendar was stolen from it! I was expecting the typical booklet type to fall out and when it didn’t I was in a panic! Then I flipped through and noticed the damn Rinka calendar was a tear-out type! HAHAHAHAAA

Also, what’s with the backs of issues looking semi-like a cover? JJ and Pinky both have these special campaign back covers with the issue number and everything instead of a typical back ad.

The back covers
Tsubasa’s Dolly Wink by Koji line has been revealing the lashes line.
The packaging is simply adorable, of course! I like how all the styles are pretty different from one another. With Koji’s Spring Heart lash line the differences are so subtle; which is a bit boring. I think my favorite lash look from this line are the Baby Cute set, followed by Vivid Pop!

I also made a batch of vanilla funfetti cupcakes this weekend topped with Mike’s amazing homemade chocolate icing
:cake:Needless to say I’ve eaten like a dozen freakin’ cupcakes so far and my blood sugar is so out of whack! I’ve been on the edge of puking, but then the tummy ache goes away and I see those cupcakes and I go for another! HAHAHAH AAAAAAAAAAH! I’m perpetually 5 years old, LOL.

CUTiE + Popteen = Shibuhara Lovers
Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 | 33 Comments

If you refresh you’ll see I added a fun, and dark, Halloween themed background. HAPPY HALLOWEEN, ね!
I just felt like blogging some randomness. The other day I downloaded some CUTiE (the bookstore I go to doesn’t sell it anymore or else someone beats me to it
) and I was a bit surprised how transformed it had been by the Shibuhara style [渋原系.] I know a few months ago they featured Tsubasa and they have again in this November issue (maybe more but I haven’t been keeping up with CUTiE.) I remember in the last issue I bought (feb) they had started adding in 1 or 2 key “Gal” style items into the coordinates but not much. But I guess Pop Sister & the whole Shibuhara-kei really struck a chord.
Can’t be too surprised though, they put the “hara” in “Shibuhara.” In other words I need to get my hands on some CUTiE perhaps!? To go along with my Popteen. The differences between CUTiE & Popteen can be sometimes subtle. Mostly in the hair, make and shoes. For example. Below are both images from the November issues of the 2 magazines.

WANT that salopette by the way~ :getit:
Popteen is on the left & CUTiE on the right. It’s kind of interesting to see these individual magazines adopting each others’ culture (if you will.) Or at least brands. Haahaa, Titty&Co. & Valentine’s High in CUTiE?? I’m a bit surprised :!: . Of course Pop Sister is really the combination of both these magazines (and others mixed in.)
I know some girls really don’t like Shibuhara style. It’s either lacking in high maintenance girlishness or it’s too commercial casual for true harajuku style. And that’s OK. I can see that. I don’t feel that way though, but only because I’ve always admired both styles but never really found myself falling into one category more than the other. For me, Shibuhara best describes what I already was wearing and what I want to wear more of!
Here’s a translation of the infamous Shibuhara page from Pop Sister if anyone’s curious about the style.
Enough rambling! How about some more CUTiE??!!
