Majolica Majorca All Night Compact

I’m feeling pretty great still! Though at night I could really use a humidifier. I’ve had 2 in the past but they both broke so I’m a bit gun-shy about picking up another, but I probably should. Unfortunately Mike has relapsed. He had the same flu, just before me. Then today at work I found out A LOT of people have had the same virus I had!! It’s a really nasty one! Took them days & days to recover too
Hopefully he’ll feel up to going out Saturday. We agreed no more night travels (too rough on the system.) Went out last night to finally go pick up magazines and grab a quick dinner. The snow has kept me from getting out there in some time. Though I’m really missing Pinky.
I got Ageha, Popteen, and SCawaii. I really need something non-gal related but nothing appeals to me enough. I know if I buy Vivi I’ll barely flip through it. Wasteful. I still need to find my Pinky replacement I guess. When PopSister comes out it’ll be a bit different, but not by much, LOL. We’ll see~ everything seems too OL, mote-kei, or rock for me right now~ :(
I wanted to talk about some makeup I recently got with my Yesstyle order! I finally got my hands on the Majolica Majorca All Night Compact! It’s nice!
It can be used as a highlighter to match up with my blush! I’ve been looking for something like the Candy Doll Highlighter powder. I haven’t found much in makeup stores. Most highlighters are golden and liquid it seems. But this (though I know, it’s a Japanese brand too) works pretty well! It’s like a semi-translucent, pink powder that’s a bit shimmery but not too much! Not to mention the case is gorgeous. Majolica Majorca stuff always is.

I just put it on my cheeks. I don’t put highlighter on my nose EVER because I’ve got a big, more than noticeable nose as it is, LOL, so skip that make step if you’re following Japanese magazine tutorials & you don’t have a cute button nose. :haha:
Tori had sent some shimmering powder for Valentine’s Day. It’s white and looked like maybe that could be used as a highlighter. However it’s too glittery for a highlighter. BUT, I have to say it’s the best damn glitter powder I’ve ever tried!
Some shimmering powders are too subtle, you know? When you want something really fun! But others are TOO glittery with giant glitter chunks hanging off your face. This is seriously a “twinkling” powder~! Enough to notice you’re sparkling but not overkill like you’re going to a rave!

OK~ now I leave you with a camwhoring balloon-loving pic!
Taken last night. GOD I LOVE BALLOON! LOL
It felt good to get dressed for myself after weeks or either being stuck indoors, or only going to work and back which is not dressing for “myself.” I think camwhoring serves a greater good for girls’ self-esteem. I think it’s often seen as a vain thing, but I think it can really boost a person’s confidence in themselves! I’m being serious!
I think there’s this confusing mantra where we want every woman to feel pretty but not express it openly because that’s tasteless vanity? Hummmm~ food for thought~
I wish more girls would post even more photos of themselves.
It’s a nice way to connect with the blogger too~~!!
I always like seeing a lot of pics though. Maybe I’m biased, haahaa!

I know what you mean, I definitely like seeing cute pics of bloggers; it makes them seem more real to me than anything else. I’d like to post my face on my blog, but I am a bit worried about security and that my family may stumble upon it somehow and recognize me, and, well, I don’t have to tell YOU how uncomfortable that would be. Have you had any trouble with creepers pestering you because you posted pictures/your location?
Not really. I think maybe I’ve run into a person or two that might have recognized me (like at the Japanese Bookstore I go to and such.) But nothing too bad~ When I was in high school I had a web site where I said some pretty opinionated stuff. Some how a ton of classmates found it and I had no idea. But everyone was really cool & positive about it & liked it so maybe that sorta set my attitude about the whole thing.
Glad it went well.
And thanks for sharing your experiences!
That’s so great you are feeling mostly better, but too bad now that Mike is feeling sick again. There is just something nasty going around I guess.
Thanks for talking about the Majolica Majorca powder, I was really curious about that since they had it featured on poupeegirl. Haha. My poupee wears it everyday. I don’t use high lighting powder, but I think it’d be nice to try it if I ever have a special occasion.
I agree with you that I like seeing people’s photos (as long as I don’t get a vain feeling from them), but I don’t like showing my own photo much. I just feel like it’s so boring to look at me haha!
I love that photo of you! It’s so cute and dynamic! Your outfit and the wig look so so pretty, and I like the movement of the balloons. How lovely!
Gah I forgot to mention it was on poupee girl!! I know. Too bad it doesn’t give me the hovering sparkles IRL though LOL!
I LOVE when you have pics of you on your blog with your sexy strawberry blonde hair
DD
Ahh! i love love love that last pic of you!
its super cute in 1000 ways!
& also!!! i saw on youtube before this makeup artist saying people with a more thin bridge on their nose can highlight on the sides to make their nose seem a bit wider? or something a long that lines?
ill reply the link when i find it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7lzcWOZxnI
ha ha ha !! it’s like the opposite of what the japanese magazines do !
OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG AMAZING! Thank you for this! It helps he’s cute as a button too
Ahh!! I know.. when i found this video I was like.. YAY….. they have every type of nose EVARR in it ~~ !!
Oh really!! I read somewhere to put the blush closer to the nose & to have a matte concealer with powder on the nose to make it look smaller. I’m off to watch the video now~~!!
I agree with the pictures bloggers post and the connection between readers and them! It’s fun to see people in a more realistic scope! And what you make said about self-esteem make sense: it’s fun to dress up and look cute, and since girls are supposed to be objects of beauty we may as well flaunt it anyways!?
I personally think pictures are fun and love dressing up for them; I wish I could do it more often! So I think you may have a good point!
Thatpicture is so cute!I should really get around to taking more pictures. I noticed that because I’ve been sick and on vacation, I haven’t gotten dressed up in a really long time :/
Any recommendations for a good pink blush? The girls in popteen always look adorable, but I’ve yet to find that sort of shade in the U.S.
I recommend NARS Angelika. It’s been in a few of the tutorials in Popteen, Vivi, and so on~! I bought it and love the shade as a bright pink! http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P2855&categoryId=C10476
Awe, your annual balloon pic~! ★’.・.LOVE~(^▽^(^▽^*)~LOVE.・.・:☆
& YAY, I’m glad the shimmering powder works! ♡ I was tempted to pick some up for myself on my last VS trip but I was hesitant… I think I’ll try it now!
The wig really does look adorable & natural on you!
That compact looks pretty~ I’d get it just for the package itself, haha
& for the record, you SO do not have a big nose! Trust me, I should know… *points at self*
Yes I was thinking that! Annual balloon photo
D!!
Thank you for saying I don’t have a big nose. Makes me think I’m doing my makeup right in disguising it! Ha!
I loooooove that pic of you!!! soooo cute!!
and I feel I connect more with bloggers that do!
I am seriously wig crazy now. I even blogged about it because of you! lol
I agree with what you said about posting pics, I try to do it often
& I hope Mike gets better!
Since I live with my bf as well, everytime I get sick he eventually gets it too and vise versa :(
Oh yaaay!! Wigs are love
Yea it’s hard to stay well when the other gets sick!
oh girl! is that your wig? it looks FINEEEE
that aside
i need new make up @___@ going to sephora feels really intense..
*pets head*
Sephora always is. I go in there with “missions” but end up always wondering around aimlessly!
I totally agree with what u mentioned the encouragement for showing herself or either himself during blogging … I love seeing what’s up with ppl’ life in other countries where is completely different with what I life tho … exp .. u might probably piss off with d snow keep happening in DC .. yet mi place is super hot like fire !!!! sometime I just wish the weather here could even low down d temp.
u always look great while taking pics with various unique of balloons .. =)
take a good care for urself and ur husband too … hugss & muakxxx
I like seeing people post pictures of themselves– I feel that without it, there’s a great sense of distance between the blogger and I. I’m still mustering up the courage to doing it regularly myself, though! D:
love your shoes~~where did you get them?
Payless! They’re actually pretty old. At least a couple of years.
AH! JENNY! that picture is LOVELY!!!!!!!
I should do a photoshoot tomorrow since i’ll be locked in all day again :(…
(btw that pic would make a nice magazine cover *wink wink*)
Sorry mike relapsed i’m trying so hard not to give strep to everyone in town X(
You look GORGEOUS!!!! I really really really love this picture of you
And the wig looks just soooo natural. I was thinking about buying a wig, but I want a short one, kinda boyish like. Hehe, still looking…
Hey Jenny! It’s really good that you’re feeling better =D
Here in Brazil we’re having a few cases of rota-virus =/
Let’s cheer for no more people sick \o/
I love the effect of the “Pink me up” glitter powder, it seems to be very nice ^^
I’ll miss Pinky too… But I get older editions on the internet, so still are some magazines unread =]
Good luck \o/
that picture of you really looks like it came out of a magazine. you’re so gorgeous, jenny!
*psshaw~* LOL
glad to hear you’re feeling better!
i totally agree with the comment about camera whoring xD
I love your photo here. Looks like it’s from a magazine! I totally agree with you, I don’t feel cute when I’m not dressing up. I sometimes wear cute clothes and makeup even though I’m not going anywhere!
Oh that’s great!! It’s nice to get dolled up for ourselves sometimes!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT PHOTO JEN!
you have amazingg styleee! : )
Hi there, i’ve been a silent reader for a few months now and just can’t help but comment in this entry!!
I love love love your blog. And I like that you post photos of yourself on your blog. it puts a picture to the words that i’m reading.
I used to think that maybe people will think I’m vain when I do it but am now starting to dress up abit more and putting more effort in looking after myself. So why not show off this new found confidence? =)
plus also loving the wig, it really suits you. Have already emailed rina in regards to buying a wig!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Joey
Well hello to you!! I’m happy you like my blog even if you are silent, it’s OK! AWWW I hope you enjoy whichever wig you go with too!! I felt the same too sometimes. I worried people would think I’m just vain. But I think it’s OK really~ I just want to share things you know.
You look so pretty in the photo! (Really want to get a wig now…lol) More cam whoring photos pls ^-^
LOL! Yes m’am!
I have to say this, the last picture is.. too cute! Love the outfit and the wig too. btw I have to agree that Majolica Majorca’s products are so gorgeous.
It’s good to use too!
STOP BEING SO GORGEOUS, WOMAN
Okkkkkkkkkk! *stops*
The last photo reminds me an older one, you has pratically the same pose and there was balloon too on it ! I think it was for valentine day,2 years ago or something like that. c:
YUp!!! I took a really similar one last v-day too
Guess what! I thought the last pic was from a magazine. “Yeah another scan” but whait It’s youu..You really look like a shibuhara model. I’m serious!
Ps. Lovely post (as always) and wish you and Mike a lot of health.
I’d love to have japanese mag too but they don’t sell any where I live, and I don’t want to buy a subscription to them TT
Oh and I LOVE your picture ! Love the lighting, your clothes and the balloons !
You’re so pretty, you look like a fashion model in this photo
wow! ur picture is sooo pretty!
it should be a like in a magazine spread or something
I love your style and the photo with the balloons is so cute! >3
ah the
sorry for flooding your comments I had problems with the > thingy X( SORRY!
The fact that you also post photos of yourself and your style and not only scans from magazines makes me really like your blog. I like following peoples blogs to be inspired by their style so I like people that post photos of themselves a lot more than those who just post model pictures. &with all the color and emoji it’s always really easy to read your blog ;D
i always love your photoshoot pics! they’re always so cute and model looking *_*
i love the powder puffy thing! its laceeeeyyy
The all night compact case is too cute! =3
Hehe my nose is a problem too so hmm I know what you mean D:
It’d be cool to see more pics of others’, agreed!
Nyaah *off to wii fit* D=
Hmm, I like your philosophy (haha!) on taking pictures for yourself! Definite self-esteem booster.
I really agree with what you said about the whole cam-whoring and self-esteem boost, but if only I have time to dress up amd look cute more often and also MONEY is a big issue, lol.
But you’re really lucky to have a job and money to afford all these cute clothing and pretty makeup. I know you’ve worked hard to achieve what you have today and I think that’s what is very inspirational about you and your blog. Many other people out there are still striving to find a job and life of their dream. I’m just afraid that someday, when I finally have the money and time to make myself look beautiful, I’m be too old for it. :(
That compact is so cute! I love your Valentines balloons too!
Ms. Honeydew, no one is ever to old to take a little time to make herself feel beautiful! Don’t wait until you *think* that you have the right amount of time or money to start something. That perfect moment never comes. Work with what you got!
Is using a pinkish highlighter okay even if you have a really yellow skin tone? Because I do, but my pale-ness makes just about every yellow toned thing out there way too dark for me. Like you said, most of it is golden~ D: I was wondering if the pinkish ones would work because they are lighter, but I wasn’t sure if the pink would look okay.
I’m actually about to do a blog post on my makeup-finding difficulties, haha.
I want to cam whore on my blog, but I’m waiting for my hair to fully recover first. You look super adorable in that pic, btw.
Also, you might get this question a lot, but…where do you get your little emoticons for your blog? I want some cute, colored, animated things. My grey smilies are so boring. D:
Totaly just realized that someone asked the same question on Formspring. Next time I have a question for you, I’ll check that first.
Oh no don’t feel that way it’s a-ok!! I wouldn’t assume you read my twitter or anything but since you did it should be helpful. Let me know if you have more questions and PLEASE feel freee to ask them here at my blog
Formspring is just something to entertain me~ I don’t take it seriously as my place for questions to be asked ;D
Responding to this since I’m fair skinned, too (most make-up companies like MAC/Clinique don’t have certain foundations light enough for me, to give you an idea
) but pink should be fine.. or perhaps one that is more white/glittery/sheer.
I totally agree with the cam whore thing. Some people so critical and say it’s vain and that people who do that are self-absorbed but it really boosts confidence! I find that when I cam whore I kinda know myself better
I learn how to smile better, do my makeup better~
I really enjoy seeing pictures of people too! It’s fun and makes the blogger seem less mysterious
Have you tried Oil of Oregano for flu/cold related issues??
It helps a lot! And it’s natural!
And your photo is soo beautiful!! I’m so glad your pro-self portraiting!!
I’ve actually never heard of it. Do you add it to drink or what?
It comes in a little bottle with an eye dropper.
DON’T PUT IT IN YOUR DRINK! You will regret it like I did…
Fill the dropper halfway, squeeze it into your mouth, swish with water, swallow. And drink like there’s no tomorrow!!! It will sting a bit, but when I feel a cold coming on, I take one dose in the morning and one at night. I swear it will save you!
And don’t take it with Orange Juice X( I have learned things the hard way…
Not to contradict you, but I thought the whole highlighter on the nose thing was because Asian’s tend to have flat-ish/wide-ish noses. It’s meant to contour it to look Western, right?
btw. I love your picture it is so cute and professional looking.
Oh you’re not contradicting me at all! That’s exactly what I meant since I have a very non-asian nose
. I’ve got a big, boney italian nose so no need to fake a strong bridge
I see. I wanted to mention how lovely your nose looked…but that would sound odd haha
And I would have a hard time accepting such a compliment, haahaa! *disagrees greatly* lulz
I’ve always wanted a highlighter for cheeks (I looove nice glowy cheeks!
). I feel your sentiment with the nose thing… Italian nose here too
I think yours is fine, but I know when people tell me the same thing I don’t believe them either LOL
I love when bloggers take pictures of themselves and their life! I agree that it makes me feel more connected. More pics more pics! I don’t camwhore lately cuz my hair looks YELLOW in pictures… really need to get to a salon or something :(
ahhhh! i always love your pictures!!!
i couldn’t agree more– about the camwhoring being a good self-esteem builder
love the pic and outfit too btw…
Love the balloon picture! You look like a model there
And I always think my nose is super big too, it’s like the “roman” nose. lol.
I love that glitter powder!! It looks like so much fun to use. I’d probably use it on my cheeks and shoulders for going out on weekends. Also, highlighter is definitely challenging sometimes, haha. I also have a big nose (I’m italian!!), so I try to downplay it as much as possible, lol.
Sweet!! So many Italian girls commenting on this! Shared pain, haahaa!
Saw that All Night Compact selling at some drug store but I didn’t get it… Maybe I should, it’s a limited edition right?
The last pic of you is sooooo pretty! Red balloons, sweet you, wow~ Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
I could post more pics of myself, but I’m very uncute… I’d prolly just scare people off.
hi
