EMODA & MURUA Inspired YS Items!

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010 | 46 Comments

It probably goes without saying but I like to browse Yesstyle a lot. I love combing through the “New Arrivals” and find inspired items! I wanted to share a couple of pieces that caught my eye lately. Most of these are items inspired by other brands/muses~ Mostly EMODA or MURUA but a few other just general styles too! I’ll post the inspiration first then the item from Yesstyle

First up
this black and white sweater! I love how similar it is to the EMODA version Ena often wears.

kenzi - Striped Sheer Knit Top

Then there’s this sweater which reminds me of a mix between something both MURUA and EMODA have, fluffly cardigans crossbred with that oh-so-freakin-everywhere wonderful sheer panel top from Honey mi Honey!

SARAH - Sheer Back Faux-Fur Top

How about instead a crochet fringed cape like Momoko’s? This one from Dream Star is only $28~

Dream Star - Fringe Cape

Sometimes just a certain shape catches my eye. Like these cardigans from Zoo. The front button and shape reminded me a bit of EMODA’s cardigan though the material is much different and so the texture is different.

Zoo - Waffle-Knit Cardigan
And yes, their boxes in the background totally look like the WC logo, LOL! Gets me every time!

Also this knitted button cardigan from CatWorld plays off a similar style as well~

CatWorld - Turtleneck Buttoned Knit Top

I bought a couple of blouses from Yesstyle last month. I’m always looking for nice blouses because I think they can be difficult to find in stores! This blouse reminds me of something that would come from MURUA plus it’s available in the popular royal blue MURUA often does too!

MARLOCA - Silk-Sleeve Ruffle Front Top

A popular theme with MURUA is batwing shirts and stripes too! Here’s a V-neck stripe batwing knit top similar to the MURUA knit below only more “winter ready” with long sleeves.

Cookie 7 - Chevron Stripe Batwing-Sleeve Top

There’s also these 2 that have a similar look.

Sylvia - Striped Sheer Jacket

Sylvia - Cropped Striped Cardigan

Saw this onepiece sweater in Vivi this month. Saw a similarly designer knit top on Yesstyle here!

MINISCANDAL - Fringed Knit Top

Distressed sweaters are everywhere and just searching “distressed knit” on Yesstyle will probably yield some desired version of what you’ve been looking for! There’s a few that look like the sweater below but they tend to sell out quickly!

TOFFEE - Distressed Knit Top

Lastly, I think this was a MURUA top from a previous season. A dolman sleeved tee with a sagging pocket. Find this similar version on Yesstyle. Actually this top was being sold by multiple shops a few months ago!

Soulmi - Sequined V-Neck Top

Geez I could do this all night! There’s a bunch more I can post if anyone’s enjoying these, haahaa~ It’s been a while since I just did a browsing-type post~

I need to revamp my old holiday layout for Christmas ASAP :F but I’ve been deciding to update/post instead.

In unrelated news I’m addicted to Starbuck’s VIA Christmas blend! So I’m taking in like 100x’s more caffeine than usual. I was up till 1am last night re-watching the first season, Disc1, of COMMUNITY. :haha:

wow ~ all of these outfits are so cute ~ but my very favorite is the Waffle knit cardigan from ZOO !!! i’m just atracted to it for some reason.. i like the fringed knit top as well. hmm.. Yesstyle never seems to fail me ~ ^^ it would be absolutely wonderful if you could post more! of coarse, if it’s not any trouble!
gosh… and Jenny, please try to get some sleep! this “overdose” of caffeine thing is making me worried… T_T

Oh yes then I’ll keep this in mind and try to do posts like these more often!! I like ZOO, usually the quality is pretty decent for the price, it’s cheap but I think it’s on par with brands like Forever21 and such!

I’m OK with the caffeine. Things have been hard lately so I think drinking coffee is my new distraction or something :(

You know I love these, hahaha!
LOVE LOVE the kenzi striped knit ♥ That’s definitely going on my next YS order! That MARLOCA blouse is especially lovely too. & I saw the ZOO cardi & Dream Star cape while I was placing my last~ you did such a great job of matching up these items with the real thing! I WANNA SEE MOAR, HAHA ;D

THANK YOU! That means a lot to me!! I bet you’re good at finding matchy-matches too! If you’re on there long enough you just can’t help but see resemblances and often times it’s cheaper than the real-deal which is cool

I think i’ll try to do posts like this more often, because I see stuff and save it! The blouses kill me the most because I still can’t believe how lacking blouses are in H&M & F21 =Y

It’s nice to see you post something everyday
Yea browsing is super time-consuming but fun… When I started I just couldn’t stop… So do you want to purchase all of them? lol.

Why thank you I love when I can post more often~ more archives for me to browse!!

Do I want them all? Hummmmmm mostly! Though not sure if I’d feel comfy in the fringe knit top. Maybe if it were a one-piece. I don’t like having a lot of just top volume because I feel it makes me chest look too big and I don’t like that

This is why YesStyle is blocked in Japan! They don’t want us to get these bargains!

Courtney said
December 14, 2010 @ 11:39 pm

I think they also knock off Japanese brands. T_T

jenny said
December 15, 2010 @ 9:22 am

Of course! Though a lot of mode style is preexisting Korean style which is interesting to me as mode gets more & more popular! At least they haven’t been sued like Forever21 has over & over & over D

Haahaaa! Probably, I dunno. I don’t really touch that one with a 10ft pole! I did hear it was blocked though

I don’t know, but none of these looks were really doing it for me. Such a shocker from your blog! haha I have noticed bat wing designs getting popular lately, though. It’s kinda a nice baggy look. I guess for winter and fall (and in general, I suppose) I prefer mori girl because it looks pretty warm. Just my 2 cents though.

Hahaha I was originally gonna post, “do you happen to know of any Mori girl resources?” and then I thought ‘Ah I shouldn’t take up her time’ . *twiddles thumbs* But you sent them ANYWAY! hahahaha! And they’re all fabulous!! I love the Nordic prints especially!! Ah I’m so tempted to buy these up now! :9 Thanks so much!!
~runs off to do a short mori girl post~ tra la la~

Hehe I also do the same thing ^^ Since I’m unsure where to buy the Japanese branded clothing from

jenny said
December 15, 2010 @ 9:28 am

And a lot of times the actual Japanese item is double in price because you must get a shopping service, pay double shipping, and shop fees just to get the Japanese Brand item :(

Oh yeh, there’s also that ;3;

Haha, I do love looking through YesStyle, even though I never buy from them online. I just like looking at all of the pretty models and their outfits.

OMG, I LOVE Community! Random, I know, lol. They actually filmed some of it at the community college I used to attend. :3

I really, really like the long-sleeved batwing sweater; I’m scared of trying it though (i.e. it’s unflattering). Any advice on that?

Nancy said
December 15, 2010 @ 4:47 am

Eek, I meant, the sweater might be unflattering on me. It clearly looks really good on some people.

I know what you mean, Actually I look crappy in V-necks (weird body shape or lack of shoulders I dunno why.) Maybe you could find something similar shaped in a nearby store first & try it on or something? That’s what I usually try to do if I’m unsure about buying something online. Though it’s not always easy to find a shape-match!

LUCKY! I love little insider stuff to Community too like them dissin’ (lol) on Glee because they share a studio! I really like Joel McHale and have seen his standup so I starting watching just to support it and b/c I was hoping it would reflect a lot of his sense of humor which it does!

I think that’s so cool how can find almost exactly the same items as celebs wear for less money elsewhere! I’m hardly ever able to find the clothes I want to wear :( Mostly because no one famous is wearing them LOL
I keep hoping the US will import some of those Nordic prints I saw in some Japanese fashion mags a few months ago. I’ve been in love with that fashion for several years but rarely find anything that fits the bill :(

jenny said
December 15, 2010 @ 9:34 am

I’ve seen a few (very few) nordic prints around, like Forever 21 and Old Navy (I think.) ;_;

I’m interested in buying clothes from yesstyle. The brand ZOO to be exact. But I wanted to ask about the sizes. It’s says ONE SIZE, does this mean one size fits all?

jenny said
December 26, 2010 @ 9:47 pm

It more so means Free Size since many of the sizes run small. But they list the measurements for each piece in cm. So you just need to measure yourself in cm and compare it to each piece. Some items are very small while others are more “one size fits all” sized.
