Weekend Chatter

Oiy~ I hadn’t been feeling like myself this past week/end. With mom’s upcoming surgery & other pressures I just sorta buckled under these past few days. But I’m starting to feel like my old self :good: again already. I feel like such a jackass even being the tiniest sad around Christmas. I have plenty to be happy about but sometimes it’s hard to see the forest through the trees.

I spent much of yesterday helping Mike get through lvl 8 of Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels (aka the REAL Mario Bros 2!) We bought the 25 year anniversary edition of Super Mario All Stars. I had this on my SNES and played through them all over & over EXCEPT the lost levels. Fuck that game it’s hard! Mario Bros 2 is my all time favorite even though it’s not the real Mario 2 (siiigh Japan & US, Y U Nintendo Relationship So Complicated?) XP

“Due to the game’s high difficulty and similarity to its predecessor, Nintendo of America chose not to release it in the United States”

Anyway, so I’ve put Donkey Kong Country Returns on the back-burner for now. Been playing 25th Anniversary Mario instead all week~

Then we went out and did some shopping, got some BBQ for lunch and made a run to the Japanese Market which was fairly busy with New Year’s shoppers! So much osechi in stock dear lord. And they had the larger, plastic kagami mochi which I kinda always wanted (*insert iconic Japanese culture want*) so I got it~ It’ll be a thrill to phone my friend a pic of me with it hahahaha~~!

Also got some hojicha tea bags. Ito En is the only bagged tea brand I like for green tea. Though it doesn’t taste exact to loose leaf it has it’s own flavor and isn’t weak dust tea! It costs a little more than cheaper brands but it’s extremely worth it.

Then I bought some more zero calorie jelly drinks. *sigh* sigh sigh~~ I sigh because I also bought the insanely best-tasting-thing-ever Ginza steam cakes too, haahaa! They’re so high in calories but taste delicious and make me nostalgic since I ate a ton of these while on my trip this summer~ :driftingheart:

OK so I went out for an early breakfast today. These are sweet potato and cranberry pancakes! It came with fresh strawberries, a spice yogurt/cream whip topping, and pan-sheared bananas.

The back of the sweater is W♥C’s Kumatan

LOL my bangs are so long it covers up lashes~ why do I even bother, haahaa~ I’m tempting to trim them myself BUT I am going in for a trim in late January so I’m trying to wait until then… :F I’m gonna get my hair cut about 2 inches shorter. Like this photo below!!!! :haha:

I read that the trim will freshen up the perm a bit too, cutting off dead ends and what not, so that would be a nice bonus in a month’s time. I think I’m going to ask to get my bangs cut a bit shorter this time too. :good: Like, room to grow out! So I’m not going back for a trim every 6 weeks you know. I don’t have the patience for that. But… BUT I do like this length which requires more than a cut every 6 months *failwhales*

I knew there was SOME bonus to growing one’s hair out! Haahaa~

Anywho~ We went out to a few malls because even though our Christmas shopping is done we obviously have a death wish! It’s quite a spectacle though. Watching last minute shoppers. I think I was doing “people watching” more than personal shopping. Though I did get a few things New tank tops to replace all my old worn out ones. Also a simple black casual dress, a few blouses, and a pair of jeggings (dear god.) Yeah, my current pair are more like jean tights. These are thicker and sorta backups when my skinny jeans are dirty . Also got some new room wear in the form of a mokomoko cloud onepiece.

Thank you everyone for sending me your Christmas cards! I wanted to show you guys how I display them .

This is similar to how my Mom used to display our family Christmas cards. Only my childhood house had large entrance ways with molding she’s tack them around so it would be like walking through an entrance of Christmas Cards! Well, I don’t have that but this is a wall in my living room where we set up our stockings!
