Food & コーデ

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011 | 66 Comments

Sunday Mike & I went to have lunch at Clyde’s. Actually I’ve never been to this Clyde’s during the day. Seemed so different. I got the Butcher’s Platter appetizer again but for my main course I ordered their Turkey Burger! Turkey burgers are what we make at home. Of course this was better with brown rice and apple mixed into the burger meat and topped in a sweet and sour sauce. Oh AND MUSHROOMS obviously.

Using the app Diptic. LOVE IT because I can patch together many photos into 1 to share lots of photos easily via email without the huge file size~

Outfit that day~~
It was a bit warmer out so I could get away with a light jacket!

Jacket - Express
Stripe Top - Target
Ribbon Tie Shorts - H&M
Brown Socks - Hue
Wedge Shoes - SARAH (Yesstyle)

Before, on my birthday… Gumbo and beignet! Always great at Louisiana Kitchen in Bethesda! This is my happy place that never let’s me down. If you go at the right time it’s peaceful and cozy, go at some other time and it’s busy and lively!

It was warm on this day too so I only wore a sweater and no coat~~
yaaay some days are feeling like spring!

Maxi Dress - Alta
Black Knit - REDOPIN [Yesstyle]
Wedge Shoes - Aldo
Bag - Cher

Tried a new, (sorta newly opened but more new to us,) Korean restaurant called Hwaro. It’s pretty good! Good variety to choose from and decent small restaurant atmosphere with stove burners inside each table for Korean BBQ/etc dishes. Nothing super fancy but still nice. I’m not the biggest lover of Korean food. I like the more popular dishes like bibimbap, bulgogi, kimchi etc. What is probably considered as “safe food.” I just don’t know a whole lot about it. (Sidney, help guide me!)

I need to really get out there and learn by trial & error LOL. Only last year did I learn about the glory of bingsoo!

I ordered Dolsot Bibimbap and Mike got Bulgogi Hotpot (Dook Bae Gee?? heeee )

Ok lastly
VOLCANO SUSHI!
This is from a few weeks ago. I’ve ordered the “Volcano Sushi Roll” before but this time it came out looking like a real volcano! With the BBQ poured all over it like lava! And yes, of course it’s crazy spicy!

…if I hadn’t just eaten dinner I’d be pretty hungry now

Food porn banzai! *giggle ‘ v ‘ I also want to learn more about Korean food. Even though my boyfriend’s Korean, he doesn’t eat it much and even when he does, it’s too spicy for me to handle *sigh But I do like bibimbap, the Korean “sushi style” lunch rolls with daikon and such (forget the name) and a delicious beef and rice cake soup for winter. Maybe you can try those next time you get a chance!

MMM Apple + mushrooms on a burger?! Sounds wonderful! Gotta try a turkey burger now~

*O* I love the first outfit you posted. Adorable!! Perfect mix of girly and boyish! I love the shoes, long socks, long ribbon shorts…fabulous!!

It seems like you’re posting more….! I love it, but I hope that’s also because you’re doing well!!
Take care *heart

That is one awesome app, I’ll have to download it later today. That volcano sushi is huuuge, but looks absolutely delicious!

Aaaah, that gumbo kind of makes me miss living in the south{ok, I was in Florida which is not really considered the south, still, you could still find some amazing southern regional dishes there-plus all of the yummy Cuban food!}

You should definitely be more adventurous with Korean food, you never know if you’ll find a new favorite dish!

jenny said
April 13, 2011 @ 9:44 am

It really was large and the rolls were so much bigger than before so they could stack them!!

Oh lawd I could go for some Florida crab clusters right now xDDDDDDDDDD

haha what are you talking about those korean foods you listed are SO GOOD. dolsot bibimbap is like my favorite foooood~~ you should also try kimchi bokumbap (kimchi fried rice) or jajangmyun (noodles in blackbean sauce) or pajeon/kimchijeon (thin vegetable pancakes). and if if you really like spicy food eat ddukbokki (rice cake, like mochi, in spicy sauce). i love to eat ddukbokki with kimbap (uh, like korean sushi roll-things), it balances out the spiciness. I LOVE KOREAN FOOD lol~ ok i just love food in general…

that volcano sushi…looks so fun! i love “fun” food. yummy + fun = best. like when they cook food in front of you or something.

ahh i like that app soooo much i wish they had it for android…i need to figure out some way to update my lj from my phone so i will do it more often :o

jenny said
April 13, 2011 @ 8:37 am

Let me just copy this email to my phone notes for next time!!! :O

Most places will only list the korean names so I have NO idea what’s in it. But I’m glad I’m not as ‘virgin’ to Korean food as I felt Dx

Ah I hope you can find a way to phone blog, I love your updates xD

I’d never heard of “volcano sushi” before! That sounds really yummy! Probably too spicy for my taste though…

jenny said
April 13, 2011 @ 10:17 am

Haahaa volcano sushi 9am cravings xD Yeah it was wasabi & spicy bbq smothered to the max! Higher up on my spicy tolerance level but still delicious enough to enjoy.

I absolutely love your outfits, especially that maxi dress~

jenny said
April 13, 2011 @ 10:18 am

Fuuuu I’d give anything to have an okonomiyaki place nearby. I’ve only had it abroad and it was SOOOOO gooooood. I’ve tried to find some made locally but no luck :(

I agree, that app looks really cool and useful. Love those collages!

jenny said
April 13, 2011 @ 9:01 pm

Yea there are some from Dazzlin that are similar too in color and cut but not fabric! I really love that this is more satin than thick khaki because it’ll be cooler for deep summer wear ^^;
