Casual Inspo from g.Sphere & Kastane

Friday, June 10th, 2011 | 53 Comments

How about some Friday inspo?!

Here is a little fashion inspiration for casual summer days. Natural, real, and yuru (loose, baggy) styles full of gingham checks, colorful floral print, crop tees, straw accessories, natural earth-tone colors, and ruffles!

The first is from a shop called “Kastane.” It dubs its base style as “American Classic” mixed with “real” style etc. Just some really fun summer thinking clothes! Most of the snaps are from their many and wonderful up-kept shop staff blogs! Their online shop is here.

Second shop is g.Sphere [shop.] Much like Kastane, it focuses a bit more on vintage look & feel.

…then a few PopSister scans
Lots & LOTS of images….

PopSister July 2011

Scanned in a few things for inspo here…

So one of the first pages opens up to this damn sweater I was talking about lusting after!!!!!!!

I went to AA tonight but of course still 88$ and with 90F+ degrees out,… I’m not buying it LOOOOOL. I couldn’t wear it for like another 4 months anyway hahaaa~ Their “sale” tonight was buy any 3 of the same item get 15% off. Wtf is that LOL.

Actually American Apparel was ALL UP in this issue, in full force. At least the stuff is Made in USA $$$ economy +1

Allamanda was featured a lot too. New brand, it’s like Dazzlin but some how manages to be even more retro & girly

Tsubasa in full “blogger” style. Not 100% used to seeing her in this style

LEG MASSAGE how to

Some lovely outfits here! I noticed the AA ‘boom’ in the July ViVi too, haha~ I had the same thought of ‘yay, American clothes!’
I think I need one of those massage roller things in my life…

I don’t know if I’m totally missing the mark here, but when I looked through Kastane and your Popsister scans, I immediately thought of: http://www.rakuten.co.jp/shopbuzz/ !

All of these looks are so familiar and homey-like ^^ Weird but all of the models look trendy and are wearing pieces that are easy to put together. Effortless fashion is kind of fun x)

Everything’s so cute! Exactly what I’m going for this summer ~ I always find it hard finding the right things to wear in the extremely over-heated weather…
Love the outfits ~ thanks for the scans, Jenny ~~

OMG that AA flower sweater. It’s sooooo pretty but it’s so freaking itchy inside and heavy! I tried on the white a while back and it wasn’t as flattering on as it looks. I can’t rock it :’(.

lovely scans. i esp. like what you posted from pop sister. i have two questions - when you post cut outs from magazines, do you actually cut out the images and then scan them into the computer, or do you “cut”t them in photoshop? also, would it be possible for you to translate the leg massage directions? i can’t imagine them being that complicated, but it would still be nice to know what they say

Lovely clothes, eee, AA has very nice stuff but often even the most basic clothes are pretty expensive… : D

I`d like to start doing some leg massage and I though that it could be fun to buy some kind of leg roller (I don`t know the term, eerh, I hope that you get it ;’). Do you have any idea which one could be a good one/where to get one..? c:

Ooo thanks for posting the leg massage thing. I may print that out later. After 6.5hrs+ of retail a shift, my legs are always KILLING me. I’ve found that working out again helps a bit damn my knees! >:O lol
I’m loving the natural styles. I’m really happy to see H&M has picked it up a bit! Now if only I had some extra $$$! lol

Hahaha, I rally love the weird names from japanese brands If there was an “I” in Kastane (Kastanie) it would mean chestnut in German, lol. There were so many funny brandnames one can’t count all :-) I wouldn’t want to have something from the brand “Titty”, DDDD

Hi Jenny! I just want to comment on the lace collared poka dot dress from cat world you posted a while back! It looks super adorable on you =) I wanted to purchase it on yesstyle but it’s sold out now. So I ordered something similar from here http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/osaka-aroot/item/jm051/#estimationOf . Just wanted to hear your opinion on that one, its similar to catworld but not the same!

I really like to try to get a mix of styles for my own personal inspo. It’s easy to go online and just look at 1 type of style and think this is what everyone is wearing in Japan but really the streets of Japan are filled with so manyvarying styles!! It’s easy to find something to be drawn to

I used to not like AA (mainly the pricing), but I’ve bought a few items from there recently! I like their tube tops and I’m looking into the maxi skirts I also want that hug me shirt!!! omg so cute, but I think I would get stares! still would wear it though

jenny said
June 12, 2011 @ 6:51 pm

I don’t think you’d get many stares, xD Yeah AA pricing is high. But if I didn’t already have many of my current basics I’d probably buy a lot of them there.

how did you learn japanese? did you take it in school or did you teach yourself?

jenny said
June 12, 2011 @ 6:49 pm

I taught myself with a college level instructional book as well as grammar books, audio CDs and a big book of kanji. However, because it was informal my Japanese is very limited. I can’t carry on long complicated conversations and my kanji knowledge isn’t has good as I’d like. I couldn’t take it in college because it interfered with my German courses :( Always regret not having that =Y

savannah said
June 12, 2011 @ 11:20 pm

oh okay! i’m teaching myself, too. I’ve gotten some text books and some activity books and “My Japanese Coach” for the DS. I find it kinda hard to motivate myself!

Hey, I thought you might want to know about this app http://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/point-daily-styling/id404786725?mt=8
It shows recent fashion styles from popular japanese shops, updated regularly. Sorry for spamming if you already know this one.

Ah yeah, it just means “baggy” style and is usually attached to another actual style so you’ll see ゆるロック or ゆるカジ meaning baggy (loose) rock and baggy (loose) casual.
