Anna Sui Double Cheek Color

Sunday, Jul. 17, 2011 | 60 Comments

There’s another orange blush I’ve been using this summer, Anna Sui’s Double Cheek in No.02! I ordered it from yesstyle. Though it’s been popular and I saw it was once available on Urban Outfitter’s site too, though sold out now. It’s still available on Yesstyle here.

It’s an orange/bronze duo. There’s a translucent layer of white highlight on the top in a lace pattern but that disappears after the first use. The colors are quite pigmented. Anna Sui blushes are a bit reminiscent of a highly pigmented colored pumice stone IMO. It’s a nice bold cheek color and definitely the bronzer/brown shade mixed with the orange guarantees the best outcome than just the orange.
Smells like roses though of course!

This is a different shade of “orange” compared to the Majolica Majorca Apricot Macaron blush I have. Funny how two similar looking palettes can be so different Anna Sui’s is definitely a bolder cheek color.

Anna Sui is such a wonderful brand! It absolutely have a bolder color than the Majolica Majorca one. I`m currently trying to find a orange or really light pink blush so it mighty come handy. And again rose scent lol

I have a pink from Anna Sui that is pretty actually. They’re just a little difficult to work with but the color payoff is worth it!

Pretty! I’ve only ever used Anna Sui perfumes but I love this shade! Looks great with the brown shade too.

I’ve only ever used her blush and nail polish. I have a free sample of the cleansing oil but I’m always nervous trying new face cleanser xD

Her perfume bottles are always so pretty and unique!

Aww~ passh~ it’s not an easy color to match (with shadow color & lip color) so it’s more just practice than anything else xD I always have to really think about the shadow & lip color I chose with it.

I wish I knew how to apply blush correctly. I swear it always looks like I got sunburned hahaha! I love the blush on you!

jenny said
July 17, 2011 @ 6:50 pm

Hahahaa sometimes I put a little pink on my nose & cheeks just to have that “got sun” look! I don’t think there’s too many wrong ways to do it. Mostly I just apply it to my apples or cheekbones in small sorta ovals.

It’s definitely bolder than the MM one, but it’s still not as dramatic as the Canmake Cream Cheek or Candy Doll one from last year haha! Like this one a lot~

jenny said
July 17, 2011 @ 6:52 pm

Hahaha that cream cheek! VITAMIN ORANGE. I haven’t worn that one much this summer despite wearing mostly orange blushes. I took it to Ocean City but that was about it. Funnily enough I have the Candy Doll one but still UNOPENED lol. I dunno what I’m waiting for. I guess to finish blushes first, but that’s never gonna happen LOL

oops I forgot it gets cut off hahaha but I was just saying that if they kept it then they’d probably get a lot of hate mail lol

It’s definitely a bolder orange! I like

And I finally went to Lush after reading your entry about it awhile back! I didn’t even realize there was a shop right across my workplace. There’s so many different types of soap and it was all so cute!

I adore the rose scent of Anna Sui cosmetics. It’s second only to Jill Stuart’s makeup scent, imo. Lovin’ the blush on you

I’ve yet to get my hands on Jill Stuart products. They smell like rose or another floral?

The orange color is really pretty I’m a little scared to step out of my comfort zone and try orange I like the lace design on the blush, though. It makes it look really cute. Too bad it doesn’t stay!

jenny said
July 17, 2011 @ 7:14 pm

Orange is definitely not in any “safe zone,” I must admit. You have to pair it with eyeshadow and lip color /just so/ or else it’s like WHOA TOO MUCH COLOR ON YOUR FACE.

I’ve always wondered what Anna Sui blushes were like! Looks nice

jenny said
July 18, 2011 @ 5:24 pm

They’re pretty nice actually! Except their hard texture they’re pigmented nicely, smell great, and last all day

July 18, 2011 @ 1:30 am

Omg, you look so cute with it! I love the strong color. How much blush do you own? LOL, I didn’t know girls needed more than one! I admit that I don’t own any…but they’re very pretty.

jenny said
July 18, 2011 @ 5:27 pm

I grew up with that idea in my head too. That a girl just finds “THAT ONE SHADE” that “compliments” her best and sticks to it, but really lot of shades can complement you so why box yourself in I change them depending on the look I want that day, for example, if I wear a lot of black I tend to use orange blush b/c I think pink softens the entire outfit up too much.

Wow, I wasn’t sure about this colour before, but now I’ve seen it on, I like it! ^.^ Do you have pink or yellow-toned skin, or is orange ok for either type?

jenny said
July 18, 2011 @ 5:30 pm

I can’t really answer that question about skin tone & orange blushes because I’m in no way any sort of makeup expert. I will say though that my skin tone is very peachy. Oranges are really popular especially this summer so there might be some advice on them out there

So sweet and cute in your h&m sweater! I love the orange! I can only imagine how lux it is!

jenny said
July 18, 2011 @ 5:53 pm

It’s pretty nice, texture could be better, but color payoff is worth it. You should go test out their blushes at their store just for the hell of it! They let you just sit there and try on a million ones without care bwahahahhaa!

Courtney said
July 18, 2011 @ 3:37 pm

Yes you can definitely tell the difference. I’d say this is a little more bold and “rustic” than the sweetness of the apricot orange

jenny said
July 18, 2011 @ 5:53 pm

Ah yes it is sorta a rusty orange!!

I have this but the hot pink and light pink one! But how come the brush that comes with the compact doesn’t pick up a lot of color? Or is it just the way I’m doing it?

jenny said
July 19, 2011 @ 6:14 pm

I think it’s the blush itself because even with my other brushes AND with my other Anna Sui blushes it’s like this hard stone and I really have to cram it in there to pick up a good amount LOL. It’s definitely not you, so no worries.

Yeah and it was kinda a nice highlight to the palette’s colors LOL
