L’Occitane Rose & Violette

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 | 27 Comments

L’Occitane hand cream given as a Christmas gift from Cin!

This is a luxurious hand cream. Instantly moisturizes with a strong wonderful rose & violette fragrance. The violette notes definitely take center stage. Rose is there but more subtle. The scent actually reminds me of those violet candies Bloomzy sent me a few months ago!! Almost exact! It’s a very, very sweet smell like candy!

I enjoy keeping hand creams like this at work. Not only is it a must because of dry winter skin and the ultra-drying hand soap kept in the office restrooms, but it’s also something I can put on before a meeting. It’s more subtle than freshening up my perfume, but also still a nice surprise. I actually put some on before a meeting today and a coworker commented on my “perfume” and how wonderful it smelled. She was surprised when I told her it was just a hand lotion!

L’occitane still makes the BEST cream! I regret not getting more when I was in Hong Kong because believe it or not, they are cheaper there than in the States or in Canada! :( I really want to try this scent! Looks promising!

Oh!! I just used a sample of L’Occitane rose lotion…even though it was just straight up lotion it worked wonderfully for my dry hands…they became super soft and smooth~ So I can only imagine how well their hand cream must be haha. Plus the BEST rose scent and rose isn’t even my favorite. So in short I’m jealous

Yeah their rose scent is crazy popular! I’m most familiar with their cherry blossom scents. B/c of the cherry blossoms here they push the heck out of it xDD I’m always running into free samples for it etc etc

What do you recommend from the l’occitane range?

I’ve used and still have some of the original Shea butter hand cream and I’ve recently received samples of the Plum blossom shower gel, rose shimmering gel and the fleur cherie body lotion, smells lush, but I have yet to use them.

L’occitane is quite expensive though!

Oh that’s strange! Or well, interesting at least! Well definitely a case to prove that everyone’s different! (A firm believer in the fact that reviews are always subjective of course )

I received a l’occitane hand cream from a friend for xmas too. But I haven’t used it yet because I have lots of hand creams floating around which I’m currently using .

It sounds like a good hand cream though! Is it like an organic violet/rose smell? I don’t think I’ve seen that rose and violette range here.

By organic do you mean like a natural scent of rose & violet? Because if so, no… I really don’t think this smells natural it’s much too sweet and the violette is ramped up beyond subtle.

That’s so wonderful! I love that concept of using a scented hand lotion as a ‘refresher’ fragrance & the practical use for the winter dry skin ♥

I haven’t replied to your blog posts for so long~ I’m quite obsessed with hand creams myself that I’m currently keeping 4 tubes (2 are nearly empty, one currently in use, and one for future use). I’ve been eyeing L’Occitane hand creams for a while now but I think they’re quite expensive for such a small size. If it’s not any trouble, can you do more reviews of hand creams you like? I would love to read those too!

I love having a hand cream to carry in my bag, and if it smells like Parma Violets I’m sold haha
